Teens can be hard to communicate with. There is     1     time when talking is almost impossible. Even walking near them, or in the same room can start an     2     (argue).    3     being a frustrating (令人沮丧的) period for the entire family, I believe there are always ways to solve it.

To communicate with them, we need some     4     (wise). So, I started writing to them how I was feeling. No matter     5     busy I was, I would take a notebook and write down why I was upset, which always calmed me down. I was able to get down in writing the feelings I probably would not have been able to say.

Then,I took the notebook with a pen, walked near them, and     6    (lay) the notebook as close to them as possible, often without any eye contact, saying,“I wrote you something”,and immediately leaving the room. Usually, the     7     (describe) of my feelings I wrote to them was     8     great use to our communication.

Each time, they would write back to me. So far, this type of communication has worked on us, and we still use it. When talking will just create     9     (much) trouble than it will solve, writing it down makes it easier     10    (say) what you need to say and to listen to what they need to say.

It’s hard to make friends    1    you stay at home alone all the time.Get out of the house and do some things.They will put you in touch with other people.It’s    2     (easy) to make friends when you have similar interests.

Don’t be afraid to show people what you’re really good    3    .Talk about the things you like.People will be    4     (interest) in you if there is something interesting about you.

Look at others in the eye when you talk.That way, they will find it easier to talk to you.If not, people may think you’re    5    interested in them.

    6     (be) a good listener.Let people talk about    7     (they) before talking about “me, me, me”.Ask lots of questions and show    8    interest in their answers.

Try to make friends with the people you    9     (real) like, respect, and admire(钦佩) – be friendly with others.That way, you’ll have a great    10    of people to choose from and have more chances to make friends.
