In the summer holiday following my eighteen birthday, I took driving lessons. I still remember how hard first day was. Before getting into the car, I thought I had learned the instructor’s orders, so once I started the car, my mind goes blank. I forgot what he had said to me altogether. The instructor kept repeating the word, “Speed up!” “Slow down!” “Turning left!” I was so much nervous that I could hardly tell which direction was left. A few minutes late, the instructor asked me to stop the car. It was a relief and I came to a suddenly stop just in the middle on the road.

Diligence is a must for us to reach our goals. I never realized it until I tried every efforts to win the English speech competition last year.
It was quite a big challenge for me because I was not that confident about your oral English and I was shy to speak in public. To give a better performance, I made fully use of my spare time to prepare for it. I recorded my lines and ask my foreign teacher to correct my pronunciation. Then I kept practise day and night. Besides, I seized every chance to speak in the front of my family or friends. The more I practiced, the much confident I became. In the end, I won the competition but got a prize.
It was such great that all my efforts paid off. I was so proud myself.

Today is my dad's forty birthday, for which we planned to throw a surprise party. We got up early in the morning, and then start to prepare for the party. Mom cooks well, so she decided to make supper himself with my sister helping in kitchen. I cleaned the rooms but decorated them with some fresh flowers ordering online. Hearing Dad would be home soon, we turned off all the lights immediately, hide behind the door. When Dad quiet walked in, all of us came out of, saying “Happy Birthday" to him. Dad was very happy and moving.

It was November 21, my parents wedding anniversary. But we have just buried my father the week before. Felt down, I ran into the bank to cash a check. The teller counted my changes. “Wow,” he said. “This penny is from 1951.” That was the year what my parents married. I saw it was a wheat penny. My sweet dad was coin collector. She had jars full of wheat pennies. If the teller had not been mentioned it, I would have spent that penny with a second thought. But now I will permanent value my penny from heaven.

This morning, I found it was snowing Heavily. Attracted by the beautiful sight, I decided to go out to take some photo. The snow finally stopped at noon, and I couldn' t wait go outside with my camera. As I walked on the path in the front of our building, I saw a boy suddenly slip in the snow-covered ground. It was at that moment when I realized what I should do. Immediately, I returned home to get a broom but started to sweep the path. I worked so hardly that I sweated a lot. An hour late, the thick snow was cleared away. Looked at the clean path, my neighbors all smiled and gave me thumbs up. I felt very happy that I have done something for my neighborhood.
