I’m in Kunming for about half a month now. I’m living with my parents.

Yesterday was Sunday. It was my thirteenth birthday. I enjoyed myself. A lot of friends came to my birthday party to celebrate (庆祝) it. They were very kind to me. They brought many gifts to me, such as birthday cards, chocolates (巧克力), flowers and so on. I like them very much. Susan gave me a special toy butterfly. It’s so beautiful. My mother bought me a big birthday cake with some candles. On the party, my friend Lisa played the piano. Bob danced to disco. Tom sang some English songs. We talked and laughed together. Then we ate the birthday cake. Before that, I made a wish and blew out the candles. My friends sang the birthday song for me. I felt very happy on that day.

Mr. Hill leaves for France (法国) and he stays there for three weeks. Usually, he wears a beard (胡子).

But because it is very hot in France, he has taken his beard off in France. Anyhow, his passport (护照) photo shows him with his beard.

At the end of the holiday, he comes back from France and arrives at London Airport again.

An officer looks at his passport photo for a moment, and says: “Will you excuse me? Please sit down. It won’t take long.” With this, he walks away, shows the photo to a second officer, and says: “I know that face.”

The second officer looks at the passport and asks where Mr. Hill has come from. When he hears that Mr. Hill has arrived back from Paris, the second officer smiles and says: “An Englishman with a beard stole (偷) a painting in Paris on Friday, and that man looks just like the kind of man...”

Suddenly it comes to the first officer who Mr. Hill is. He returns to him and asks: “Did you teach at the No. 2 High School?” When Mr. Hill answers in surprise that he did, the first officer smiles and says: “I thought so. I’m Jack Smith. You taught me French. You haven’t changed a bit.”

My father is tall and has short, brown hair. I just ________ a picture of him from 1968. What a ________! In the picture, he’s 15 years old. He’s short and he wears glasses ________ small, round frames (镜框). He has long, brown hair and it’s really straight. He’s ________ blue jeans and a red T-shirt.

I’m 25 years old now. I’m of medium ________ and I have short hair. My hair isn’t ________, it’s blue. My dad thinks it’s strange (奇怪的), but my friends think it’s great. I wear glasses, but my glasses have bright red frames. They’re so cool! I have an earring in ________ ear, too. Dad really can’t ________ that. I ________ wear blue jeans. I like big, baggy (宽松的) pants and long T-shirts. Most of my T-shirts have ________ of my favorite rock bands (摇滚乐队) on them.
