On September 17, 2023, the Cultural Landscape of Old Tea Forests of the Jingmai Mountain in Pu’er gained World Heritage Site status,    1    (become) a new Chinese entry on that list.This means that it has been recognized as    2    important place of cultural significance.    3    (locate) about 1,500 meters above the sea level, the heritage site in Pu’er, Yunnan province contains five large-scale, well-preserved old tea forests. It is the first World Heritage Site with the theme of tea. It was    4    (joint) created by ancestors of Blang people, who immigrated to Jingmai Mountain in the tenth century, and    5    the ancestors of Dai people.    6    (they) contributions have turned it into a unique    7    beautiful place that we see today. To ensure lastingly inherited(继承) outstanding universal values of the old tea forests, China will better guide local communities    8    (join)in protection and regulate tourism. It will also advance international cooperation and cultural exchanges in the World Heritage circle. The heritage site presents the    9    (ecology) wisdom that can be inspiring for sustainable     10    (develop) of the world today.

Hiking the Longii Rice Terraces(梯田)in southern China is something I would recommend for everyone to add to their bucket list. The name     1     (literal) means “Dragon’s Backbone” due to the fact that the rice terraces look just like a dragon’s scales, while the mountain’s summit resembles the backbone.

During my visit to Guilin, I decided     2     (set) out on a three-day hike through the famous Longji Rice Terraces. Known as the “Dragon’s Backbone”, the terraces were a spectacular sight as they stretched across the green hills in complicated patterns     3     (look) like ripples of water.

The hike took me through small villages set     4     the beautiful landscape. Local farmers were busy tending to the terraced rice fields that     5     (farm) for over 1, 000 years. Along the paths, I passed orange groves and met friendly locals     6     offered me fresh lychees.

At night, I stayed in simple home-stays run by farming families. Over multicourse meals- featuring local specialties like sticky rice, I learned     7     (much) about the terraces and village life. The feeling of community spirit and connection to the natural environment was unique.

Reaching the hike’s end after three full days, I felt a profound     8     (appreciate) for these ancient agricultural wonders carefully     9     (build) into the landscape by generations of families. Jiuzhai Valley is a nature reserve in the north of Sichuan Province,     1     is known as the habitat of giant pandas. It is known for its many multi-level waterfalls    2     colorful lakes. It     3     (become) a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

Located about 400km north of Chengdu, Jiuzhai Valley has    4     (impress) views of lakes, waterfalls, and mountains. The name means “Valley of Nine Villages”,     5     (come) from the 9 ancient Tibetan villages that call it home. Its     6     (high) point is4, 700m above sea level, with the main sightseeing areas between 1,980 m² and 3,100m².

The park is the natural habitat for the giant panda and the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey. However, because of the park’s size and     7     number of tourists, the chances    8     (see) them are slim. About 20 pandas reportedly live in the park.

For environmental protection reasons, no personal transport    9     (permit) within the park. However, with a bus pass you can take a bus to all of the sites within the park. Every few minutes a bus will come to a site to pick up the     10     (passenger).

8 . Scotland is packed with beautiful places to visit and you could honestly spend months and months exploring everything this wonderful country has to offer! Next I’m going to take you through some of the best place to visit in Scotland, based on where we have personally visited so far!

If you asked me where my favourite place to visit in all of Scotland is... I would say, Glen Coe. The whole area of Glen Coe constantly had my face in shock due to the beauty that I was witnessing1 was witnessing (亲眼看见). It’s just a stream of dramatic mountains, lakes, rugged (崎岖的) beauty and more.

Fort William is probably one of the most well-known places to visit in Scotland. It’s a popular tourist destination thanks to being home to the UK’s tallest mountain: Ben Nevis. Fort William is also the starting point for one of the world’s most famous train rides: The Jacobite. Harry Potter fans will recognize it as the Hogwarts Express, and this train ride will take you through the beautiful countryside, crossing some iconic Harry Potter filming locations such as the Dumbledore’s Grave and the Glenfinnan Viaduct!

This island feels totally different from other parts of Scotland and is truly rugged and ready! There are many hot spots to explore including the Old Man of Storr, the Fairy Glen. I even stayed on a private island with its very own lighthouse, which was one of the coolest places I’ve ever visited and one of the most romantic places stay in Scotland.

This is the largest national park in the UK so it’s another popular place to visit in Scotland and it’s no surprise why. It’s absolutely beautiful and there’s so much happening at the Cairngorms National Park! From skiing or meeting local reindeers, you’ll not go bored and you’ll be surrounded by beauty the entire time.
