3 . Many people don’t think that TV shows are useful. However, some shows are good and we can learn many things from them. Here are the shows I like.

	When I was a child, this was the only show I could watch. I watched it on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday every week. You can learn about different countries around the world from it. As the show is for children, the language in the show is easy.
	This show is about making bread, cakes and so on. The show wants to find Britain’s best amateur baker (业余烘焙师) . You can watch the show and learn how to bake different kinds of bread and cakes by following their steps.
	This show is about life in cold places. There are many special animals in this show. I love this show not because of the cute animals, but because it teaches us about the impact (影响) we have on these animals and what we need to do to save them.
	This show is great for you to think. It is a quiz (知识竞赛) show. It may be about sports, weather, movies and so on. I learnt lots of things from this show.

The first public TV broadcast was made in the USA in 1925. Back then, the pictures on a TV were black and white only. TV has changed a lot since then.

On TV, you can watch many different programs about many things. Some examples of TV programs are news, sitcoms, cartoons, dramas, reality shows, sports, documentaries and soap operas.

There are many channels（频道）on TV. They show different TV programs. TV guides tell people what programs are showing on different channels at different time.

Many programs on TV are TV series. Each of them has many episodes（集）. These episodes usually last for either 30 minutes or a full hour. There are movie channels on TV. So you can watch movies at home instead of going to the cinema on the weekend.

You can learn a lot from watching TV, but you’d better not watch too much, or it’ll hurt your eyes.

There are some TV shows that focus on(关注)sports such as basketball and swimming. But Skate Into Love might be the first one to focus on winter sports. The TV show follows a group of skaters who have a strong winning spirit on the ice.

The main characters(角色)of Skate Into Love are two childhood friends and they share a love for ice skating. They meet each other at college(大学)and go for their dreams together. Tang Xue loves speed skating, while Li Yubing is an ice hockey(冰球)player and he is known as the “Ice God” for his talent(天赋).

Their roads to success are not smooth, but they never give up. Tang has to give up speed skating after getting a serious injury during high school. But she finds that her love for the sport doesn’t change in college. With Li’s help, she returns to the ice and practices harder than her teammates to catch up.

The show also shows how exciting winter sports can be. People can learn about many Winter Olympic events by watching this show. More than 200 great athletes, including speed skater Wu Dajing, gave guidance(指导)and appeared on the show. Producer(制片人)Liu Ning hopes the show will help to make winter sports more popular in China.

8 . Nowadays, there are more and more TV talent shows. They are very popular all over China. These talent shows give everyone a chance to show off their talents. For some lucky people, these shows may make them famous, and can even make them rich. However, there are also many bad sides. First, some young people just imitate(模仿)the people they love. They may forget about their own style. Second, young people spend too much time on such TV shows. They always dream of being a star, so they spend less time on their studies.

I think TV talent shows are social activities. Young people can join in these activities to get social experience. But they should know that the chance of being famous is very small for most people and they should know that their schoolwork is much more important. In a word, you can do what you like, but you should know what is important and what is not.
