The Lego House
A few years ago in August, there were lots of people in the countryside near London, in England. Some people started waiting in line at 4:30 in the morning.
Together, 1,200 people used 3.3 million (yes, 3,300,000) Lego toy pieces to make a real house.
The people finished building the house on September 17th, almost seven weeks after they started.
At first, a theme(主题) park called Legoland planned to buy the house, but later they decided not to.
James May was not happy about it as more than 1,000 people worked hard to build the house and everything inside it.

5 . We made a survey among different age groups on preferred ways of watching TV programs. The following is the analysis (分析) of the survey results. We hope to give suggestions to advertisers based on the findings.
TV viewers of different ages were asked about their primary way of watching TV. The results can be seen in the pie chart, which shows that although live TV is still popular, it is now preferred by just under half of those surveyed. Watching recorded programs (DVR) is the second most popular way (23%), with online streaming (直播) in third place (17%).
Of the people who chose each of the three main viewing kinds, the graph (柱状图) shows what percentage was in each of the seven age groups. To help advertisers look for target (目标) age groups, the report will focus on the data (数据) shown in this graph.
The survey shows that live TV viewers are still the largest group. They are older in age, so advertising through live TV will be less helpful for products aimed at younger people.
On demand (点播) or DVR viewers are more likely to be aged 25—44. This is the best kind for advertisers aiming at a wide age group. However, it should be remembered that they are likely to skip advertisements when watching recorded programs. They think it is a waste of time to watch ads.
Online streaming viewers are typically younger in age (under 25). Although they now make up less than a fifth of viewers, the number is likely to rise in the near future.
Generally, it is likely that the data for the three kinds will become almost the same in the near future.

Lost is such a cool show. It’s filmed in Oahu, Hawaii, but it’s a drama about the adventures of a group of people whose plane crashes on an island in the South Pacific. It has such a big cast (阵容) that it’s one of TV’s most expensive shows to make. My friends and I are such big fans that it’s all we talk about when we get together! |
Posted at 2:48 p. m. by Mayu These days there are so few good shows on television that I rarely watch it anymore. But I never miss Star Academy. It’s a singing competition and reality TV show all in one, and it’s shown in over 50 countries! The winners are so talented that they often become successful in the music industry. But even the losers are great. They all do so much work to prepare for their final performances. I just can’t stop watching. |
Posted at 2:31 p. m. by Shane There are so many crime drama series on TV that I get them all confused. And we all have so little free time that we can’t waste it watching boring shows, like Bake Time. The one I recommend is Law Order. The acting is great, and the cast is good-looking. Plus, the story lines are so gripping that you slip into another world! |
