Lei Haiwei, a food courier (快递员) man, won the final(决赛) of the third season of Chinese Poetry Competition (中国诗词大会) on CCTV on April 4. His s 81 surprised all the Chinese people a lot.
Lei Haiwei, a 37-year-old man, c 82 from Shaoyang, Hunan Province. He is now working as a food courier man in Hangzhou, the c 83 of Zhejiang Province.
When he was at the age of six, he was i 84 in ancient poems (古诗词). Lei said, “My father hoped I would grow up to be a man who keeps the mountains, rivers, lakes and seas in mind. He also t 85 me the stories behind each poem. He w 86 poems down, put them up on the wall of the kitchen and taught me to read them from a young age.” In his father’s small house, there is a bookshelf (书架) f 87 of books about ancient poems.
Lei didn’t go to college. But he never gave up his interest in poems. Because he was t 88 poor to buy books, Lei would remember the poems in bookshops and write them out when he returned home.
Now, as a busy food courier, he reads and remembers poems by u 89 his mobile when waiting for food to be prepared. It helps him relax during his fast-paced life.
After winning, Lei went b 90 to Hangzhou and continues (继续) his work as a busy food courier.
