China is a colorful country with amazing places and cultures. In this blog, we will introduce five most attractive places that you can’t miss if you are planning to go for a travel in China!

文章大意:本文是一篇夹叙夹议文。文章主要讲述了自己在学习钢琴过程中的爱与恨以及自己感悟。

It’s a classic story: A kid is forced to learn an instrument from a young age, they play it throughout their childhood, and they develop a bittersweet relationship with it. Is the constant battle between the love for the music and the hate for the constant challenge worth the fight? For me, it was.

I started playing the piano when I was four-that was 15 years ago! This was huge commitment, so there must have been something worth holding on to, right?

The easy guess is that I was purely in love with music and piano. Although that’s the sweeter tale, it’s a bit more complicated. I struggled a lot with piano. Family and peers were, at least in my own head, constantly placed beside me in competition. I felt pressure to be the best in order to prove something to others-and more devastatingly (破坏性地) to prove something to myself. The seed of my musical interest was grown in the sunlight of competition and doubt. Hate sprouted (滋生) when my self-criticism hit too hard.

It’s difficult to learn to love something that didn’t originate from love. For a while, piano was more of an annoyance than a hobby. But somehow, love grew. It was deeply buried. But it was there, and by high school,it was strong enough that when I was truly on the verge of quitting any kind of formal training. I found the strength to hold on tighter, and dig further. I switched teachers, and got incredibly lucky with one who helped me tunnel into what I loved. I learned pieces for myself, I composed for myself, and I found confidence not because I got “good enough,” but because I learned that anything I had was good enough.

The love and hate I’ve had for the piano were both planted and grown. If you too have learned to hate something, remember that with commitment, it can be uprooted, and love can make a home in its place. There is always time. There is always room.

4. What does the author want to show by telling a classic story?
A.The benefits of music.
B.Kids’ struggle in learning instruments.
C.Kids’ bittersweet childhood.
D.The popularity of learning instruments.
5. What can we know about the author’s experience of playing the piano?
A.She finally quit formal training.
B.She never treated it as her hobby.
C.She was in pure love with music and piano.
D.She once experienced great pressure from herself.
6. What helped the author find confidence?
A.Her attitude.B.Her training.
C.Her compromise.D.Her achievement.
7. What message is mainly delivered in the passage?
A.Practice makes perfect.
B.Love is a thing that grows.
C.Content is better than riches.
D.Chance favors the prepared mind.

Nearly every week, we hear news about the latest successes and failures in driverless vehicles. But we hear little about how other industries are developing this same kind of technology. One industry heavily involved in researching and developing artificial intelligence, or AI, is agriculture. Companies are experimenting with high-tech tools that can help farmers save time and money, while reducing environment-harming chemicals.

One of the companies is ecoRobotix of SwitzerLand. It created a robot equipped with AI and cameras to identify all plants on a farm. The robot has four wheels to carry it through the fields in search of weeds. Computer-controlled arms then lower and spray the weeds with small amounts of herbicide(除草剂). Company officials say the robot can fully operate on its own for up to 12 hours a day while being powered by the sun. It uses the same kind of sensor and positioning technology used to guide driverless vehicles. A farmer can also control the equipment through a smart-phone.

The co-founder of ecoRobotix, Aurelien Demaurex, says the farm robot can kill weeds with 20 times 1ess herbicide than traditional methods. This is because the system uses exactly the right amount of chemical in the exact place required to kill the weeds. Currently, farmers spread weed killers over massive areas to destroy unwanted plants.

Another company developing farm robotics is California-based Blue River Technology. The company has a system called "See & Spray", which it claims was the world's first smart sprayer. The system-which connects to the back of a tractor-is also equipped with AI to identify and chemically kill only the weeds. It can also spray chemicals on wanted plants to help them grow. Ben Chostner, vice-president of business development for Blue River Technology, explains in a company video that See & Spray technology uses the same deep learning methods used in facial recognition. "The first time the machine saw a pigweed, it didn't know what kind of plant it was. But we taught it-by giving it tens of thousands of examples of that pigweed-and now it's an expert in pigweed. "

8. How will AI benefit agriculture?
A.It will fund agriculture research.
B.It contributes to low-cost farming.
C.It can avoid harmful chemicals.
D.It frees all farmers from field work.
9. What do the products of the two companies have in common?
A.They use recognition technology.
B.They are powered by solar energy.
C.They are connected with smart phones.
D.They can help wanted plants grow rapidly.
10. What do Ben Chostner's words suggest about the robot?
A.It is environmentally-friendly.
B.It is good at self-improving.
C.It has the learning ability.
D.It can track various plants.
11. What is mainly talked about in the text?
A.The experiment in farming robots.
B.New trend in artificial intelligence.
C.Modern See & Spray technology.
D.Artificial intelligence in agriculture.

How to Live a Fulfilling Life

How awesome would it be to get out of bed each morning feeling purposeful and happy about your day? What about going to sleep each night with a grin(露齿的笑)of satisfaction on your lips?     12    Here are some tips that may help you.

    13

To lead a more fulfilling life, you first need to know what part of your current life is troubling or unsatisfactory. Reflect on different aspects of your life to figure out which are upsetting you the most. Try closing your eyes and questioning “What part of my life dissatisfies me the most?” Whatever comes to mind first is probably where you’ll want to start.

● Building good habits.

One of the best ways to build good habits that support a fulfilling life is by doing something each day that challenges you. Identify one thing you can take action on that pushes you beyond your comfort zone and do it. This might be sharing ideas with your boss when you typically stay quiet.    14    For example, if you’ve been trying to lose weight, but you spend too much time on the couch, reduce your time on TV or do an exercise while you watch.

● Having good health and well-being.

15    You’ll have trouble feeling fulfilled if your energy only goes out. Just as you pour love and support into others, you must return that love and support to yourself. Take time to improve your own self with passions or self-care. Fulfillment also translates to perfect mental and physical health, so make time to exercise regularly. Schedule it into your day.     16

A.Addressing your dissatisfaction.
B.Learning to avoid dissatisfaction.
C.It’s important to set aside “me” time.
D.End each day by reflecting on your daily challenge.
E.Replacing your bad habits with good ones is also suggested.
F.That way, it will be just like any other task on your to-do list.
G.This may seem difficult, but leading a more fulfilling life is entirely possible.

A city walk is     32     form of urban tourism originating in the UK. Unlike traditional sightseeing, which     33     (aim) to hit famous attractions and commercial center, usually by vehicles with tense schedules, city walk is about “roaming” (漫步) around a city on foot,     34     (absorb) the atmosphere and finding unusual things that even a resident of the city might not have noticed before. Such walks     35     (general) avoid famous scenic spots and shopping centers, and take you to places     36     you can have real interactions with the local people, eat at small but authentic restaurants, and gain a     37     (deep) understanding of the history and culture of the city. City walkers are a cast of people who are eager to engage with the city they are visiting or live     38     their own way.     39     they want to seek is pleasure more through connection than     40     (consume), which indicates a deep cultural curiosity. Be it the hutong in Beijing or the Chinese parasol tree district in Shanghai. City walks allow people to see the scenery apart from the scene and uncover     41     (hide) knowledge. City walk is a way to love yourself and benefit your mental health. Just like Oscar Wilde once said, “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”
