The movie Home Coming took the lead in the box office (票房) during the National Day holiday.
It tells a story happened in North Africa. After a war breaks out there, two Chinese diplomats (外交官) are ordered to help evacuate (撤离) the overseas Chinese. After completing the first task successfully, they learn that another group of Chinese citizens is still in great danger. Realizing that these people will die if they don’t give a hand, the two men travel through the war area. They risk their lives to help over 100 Chinese citizens go to a safe place. The movie not only shows the two diplomats protect the people with courage, but also shows their deep love for the country and people.
Home Coming reminds many people of a similar real event which truly happened in Libya in 2011. Chinese Embassy (大使馆) helped the evacuation of more than 30,000 Chinese citizens. Behind this event were many efforts of Chinese diplomats. After watching the film, a man recalled his personal experience 11 years ago. “We are the lucky ones because we have a strong country and are well protected,” he said.

【推荐3】While some people stick to only one kind of movie,I like to watch different kinds depending on how I feel that day.
When I’m down or tired, I prefer movies that can cheer me up. Comedies like Men in Black or cartoons like Kung Fu Panda have funny dialogue and usually have a happy ending. The characters may not be perfect, but they try their best to solve their problems. After I watch them, my problems suddenly seem less serious and I feel much better again. (1) Laughing for two hours is a good way to relax.
I don’t watch dramas or documentaries when I’m sad or tired. Dramas like Titanic make me feel even sadder. Documentaries like March of the Penguins which provide plenty of information about a certain subject can be interesting , but when I’m tired I don’t want to think too much. ____________(2)I can just shut off my brain, sit back and enjoy watching an exciting superhero who always saves the world just in time.
Once in a while, I like to watch movies that are scary. 它们可能很有趣,但是我太害怕以至于我一个人不敢观看。(3)I always bring a friend who isn’t afraid of these kinds of movies, and it doesn’t feel so scary anymore.

Hi, I’m David House from the UK, a writer working for Teens Magazine. Here, I help solve the readers’ problems. I hope I can help with yours. |
Hi David, I have a nickname called “Big Eater”. Every time I have a meal in the dining hall, I end up eating a lot more than others. The boys always laugh at me for being a “foodie(吃货).” I feel embarrassed(尴尬的) and sad about it. Sometimes I even cry. What should I do? Paul |
Hi Paul, As a food lover, I can understand. You’re still growing and have long days at school. It’s good to eat a full meal for energy and to make sure you’re getting everything your body needs. But if you eat too much, you will be fat and that’s not good for your health. Make sure you are eating what’s right for you. It takes at least 20 minutes to start digesting(消化) food. So sometimes, you’re full before you know it. We are all different. Some people need more food than others. For example, some have a better metabolism(新陈代谢), which means they break down food better than others. You’d better know how much food you need. So just eat what’s right for your health and energy. As for the nickname, take it as a bit of fun. Boys always give each other nicknames. Laugh about it and find the fun in it. Everyone’s life is full of problems. __________________. David |
2. How long does it take to start digesting food?
3. What should Paul do according to David?
4. What may David write next? Finish the ending of his letter.(about 30 words)
