Is a training class or a tutor necessary ?

More and more middle school students are going to all kinds of training class or getting a tutorat the weekend. 4 . Exam time is the most stressful（压力重的）period of the year. You have worked all school term on your classes and now it’s the time to prove what you have learned. With so much at stake（处于成败关头）, it is easy to get stressed about your exams. However, with the right amount of hard work and focus you can pass your tests easily. When I was in school, I used to get very stressed over my exams. So did my friends. Some people stopped eating and others ate too much! Some gave up and others burned themselves out! The most important thing to remember when studying is not to feel frightened! Take the middle path—stay calm, eat healthily and get a rest. Pushing yourself too hard is just as dangerous as not studying enough. A tired, overworked brain is just as useless as a lazy, empty one! So, what should you do? Arrange a time each day for study and a time for relaxation. You may have less time to relax than usual, but you still need to let your brain rest for a few moments. Get plenty of sleep. If you are tired, information will not stick in our memory. Finally eat healthy foods that fuel your body and mind.

It does no good to think too much about your exams. Some students may think that the rest of their life depends on them. That’s not true. Instead, just view the exams as another difficulty you will overcome. You have overcome all kinds of difficulties in your life so far. With the right amount of work and focus, you will pass your exams with flying colours! High school is right around the corner!

Maybe you are a common student. You may think you will never be a top student. This is not true. Anyone can become a better person if he or she wants to. Here are some ways about how to become     1     better student. Plan your time carefully. When you plan your work, you should make a list of     2     (thing) that you have to do. After making it, you should make your     3     [əun] timetable. First make your time for eating, sleeping, dressing and so on. Then make a good time for studying. Don’t forget the time to have fun. A weekly plan can’t solve all your problems, but it can help you know what is     4     (happen).

Find a good place     5     study. Look around the house for a good study area. The place may be a desk or just a corner of your room, free of everything but study materials. No games, or television! You will be able to pay more     6     [əˈtenʃn] to your study.

7 . Chinese schools begin in September after a long summer holiday (暑假).     1    . The first term is from September to January, and the second term (学期) is from February to June.

Most Chinese children begin to go to school at six or seven years old.     2     Junior high school students take many subjects, such as Chinese, math, English, history and other subjects.

    3     So junior high school students in China are under great pressure (压力) from study. Of course, they can do many interesting things after class.     4     And girls usually sing, dance, or play ping-pong in the gym.     5     On the other hand, they should also relax themselves after class.

New rules and behavior standards (行为规范) for middle school students came out. ①Who are the most excellent students? Middle schools use a new way to decide that. The best students won’t only have good grades. They will also be kids who don’t dye (染) their hair, smoke or drink. The following are some of the new rules.

② Have you ever copied others’ work during an exam? Don’t do it again. That’s not what an honest student should do. If you played computer games for two hours in your room, don’t tell your parents you were doing your homework.

Do more at school. ③好学生热爱动物，关心他人。April is Bird-Loving Month in China. Is your school doing anything to celebrate? You should join! That way, you can learn more about animals and learn how to protect them. And when your classmates are in trouble, remember to give them a hand. You know a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Use the internet carefully. Try to ④ away from web pages that are bad for you. Find good websites and use them for homework.

Be open to new ideas. Have you ever thought that people could live on the moon? Maybe you can discover a new planet someday. Don’t look down on new ideas. ⑤You should welcome them because new ideas can make life better.
