Popular music in America is what every student likes. Students carry small radios with earphones and listen to music before class, after class, and at lunch. Students with cars buy large speakers and play the music loudly as they drive on the street.

Adult (成年的) drivers listen to music on the car radio as they drive to work. They also listen to the news about sports, the weather, and the life of American people. Most of the radio programmes are music.

Pop or popular music singers make much money. They make a CD or tape which radio stations use in many places. Once the popular singer is heard all over the country, young people buy his or her tapes. Some of the money from these tapes comes to the singer. Wherever (无论哪里) the singer goes, all the young people want to meet him or her. Now the singer has become a national star.

There are other kinds of music that are important to Americans. One is called folk (民间) music. It tells stories about the common (普通) life of Americans. Another is called western or country music. This was started by cowboys who would sing at night to the cows they were watching. Today, any music about country life and the love between a country boy and his girl is called western or country music.

Are you always looking for an excuse to put off (推迟) housework and cleaning for just another day? Well, you can do it today. Today is No Housework Day. It’s time to forget housework and relax.

No Housework Day is always on April 7th. On this day, you can do anything except (除了) housework. You can have someone else do housework for a day. Housework is a daily and endless job. And most people think it’s boring to do housework. I have many friends and their wish is to stay away from housework. But their wish can never come true.

Do you know how to celebrate No Housework Day? Well, there are two different ways. If you really do the housework around the house, forget it on this day, enjoy the day, relax and do anything except housework.

If you never do housework, you can do it for your family. It gives your parents a break from the housework. And by doing housework, you will know how much housework your parents need to do every day.

Australia is a big country, but it is easy to get around. The beaches and deserts are just there, waiting for you. You can explore (探索) the big country in different ways.

Air

Flying is the best way to visit large areas in a short time. You can spend more time on the Australia’s landscapes (陆地风光) and relaxing lifestyle. And there are lots of air companies and flying doesn’t cost much.

Drive

Australia has a big network of well-kept roads and some of the most beautiful touring routes (路线) in the world. You have no trouble finding car rental (租赁) companies. Remember that the traffic here keeps to the left.

Bus

Bus travel in Australia is comfortable, easy and cheap. Buses usually have air conditioning. Most bus drivers are kind and friendly and they are ready to help. If you don’t know the way, just ask them.

Rail

Train travel is the cheapest and helps you get to know Australia’s size. It is a great way to get quickly between our cities and regional (区域) centers.

Ferry (轮渡)

Sea-link ferries connect South Australia and Kangaroo Island several times a day. Taking ferries like CityCat in Brisbane is a great way to see the city.
