Americans usually eat three meals a day. Breakfast is always before eight o’clock in the morning. They usually have eggs, some meat, bread, fruit, juice and coffee at home. Lunch is between 12:00 and 13:00. Lunch is a light meal. Some people have lunch near their workplace. The students take sandwiches, fruit and cookies with them to eat in school.

Supper is between six and eight o’clock in the evening. People usually cook it at home. They may have meat or chicken, turkey (火鸡) or duck. They may also have potatoes or rice, vegetables or salad (沙拉). The drink is coffee, tea or milk.

Are you happy every day? It’s hard to answer yes because everybody gets unhappy sometimes. When you fail the exam(考试不及格), you may feel unhappy. Our mood(情绪) is like the weather. We like sunny days. But we often meet cloudy days and rainy days. So how to be happy? Here are some suggestions(建议).

Forget small things. You lost your favourite book. Your father doesn’t buy you a birthday present. Forget them and don’t let them make you sad.

Think more about the good side of a thing. If you don’t catch your bus and are late for school, don’t be sad. You can sleep more and have a good dream.

If you are happy, a day will pass. If you are not happy, a day still passes. So we should spend a day happily.
