Since I came to my new neighborhood, I have had the pleasure of meeting a few neighbors. They seem to be quite _________ people. For Christmas, I thought I would do something nice for them. I sat down and _________. There were nine neighbors, and I also knew which houses they lived in. However, I decided to _________ one more name on my list. The lady I met every morning, as I drove down the street, always smiled sweetly and waved happily, _________ I had no idea which house she lived in.

My gift idea was to make small _________ baskets and leave them at each of my neighbor’s front door. I kept the last one for the friendly lady, because I was still not sure where she lived. _________, I decided to put it at the door of the house where I met her. This morning, I noticed a thank-you card in the mailbox. I opened it and read the _________ which really caught me by surprise. The card said, “Thank you for those lovely apples and strawberries you left at the door of Tod. He passed away _________ January 19th, but he never stopped talking about how nice it was that someone _________ him in his time of illness. He really enjoyed it.” I was very _________. I had no idea who Tod was or that he had been seriously _________. I had left that nice lady’s basket at Tod’s door by accident, I feel _________ that the nice lady did not get the basket from me this Christmas, but I believe that if she knew what had happened, she would _________ me.

I feel lucky to have helped Tod to be more cheerful in his last days. This just makes me believe that sometimes _________ in life are beautiful.
