The New Year is coming. Our class is     1     (go) to have a party. When is a good time     2     (have) it? I did a survey(调查). Some classmates wanted to have it on Thursday night. But some classmates said they had to study for the test. Wang Mei said we could have the party on Friday. That’s a good idea. So we decided to have it on Friday afternoon. Hello, everyone! I’m Betty King and I come     1     America. Today I would like to say something about Halloween (万圣节). It is     2     important festival in the USA. It     3     (have) a history of about 2, 000 years.

Halloween is on 31 October. It isn’t a holiday in the USA. Students have lessons as usual (像往常一样). But they have     4     (party) in the evening. They have many ways (方法) to have fun. Most of them like to wear special clothes for the festival. There are always many games on Halloween.     5     (child) like to play “trick or treat” best, and then they can get candies from     6     (they) neighbours (邻居). And another game is biting (咬) apples. Do you know how to play it? Kids put some apples in a box full of water. One of them tries to get an apple with the mouth, not with a hand. It is a very easy game, but everyone     7     (enjoy) it.

Of course, there     8     (be) many jack-o’-lanterns. I am good at making one out of a pumpkin (南瓜). There is always lots of fun on Halloween.

Black Friday is the Friday after the     3     (第四) Thursday in November. This year will fall on Nov. 27th. It's the start of the holiday shopping season. Most people don't have to go to work that day and they have one day     4     (休息) . So people start to     5     (考虑) buying what kind of presents for their families and friends.

While Single's Day is usually for online shopping, a lot of shopping on Black Friday is like a     6     (战争) at actual shops. Shoppers look for     7     (交易, 协议) they like, such as televisions, computers and     8     (音乐的) instruments. These things have high prices, but on this day, there are only a few available at the very     9     (低的) sale prices. After     10     (比较) the prices of things among the different shops, they decide which to buy in the end.

How is everything going? I am having a     1    [ˈwʌndərfl] time at summer camp (露营) here in Maine. Danny is my new best friend and Mr. Kipper is our cabin captain. He is always tired and busy.
