Yuhang in Hangzhou is k    1     for making oil paper umbrellas for over 230 years. But in the 1970s, it was out of production（生产）a     2     steel-ribbed（钢骨的）umbrellas became more popular. In 2015, Liu Weixue g    3     up a well-paid job to learn from his grandfather the traditional art of making Yuhang oil paper umbrellas. “I f    4     in love with the art at a very young age.” Liu said. There are more than 70 steps, including m    5     bamboo ribs （竹伞骨）and pasting（糊）papers. After mastering the skills, Liu opened a studio（工作坊）, Liu improved the umbrellas to w    6     the hearts of young people. As the traditional paper breaks easily, he used t    7     paper. In a test, his umbrellas were opened and c    8     1,000 times without breaking. He uses a lighter kind of bamboo to make the ribs, so the umbrellas weigh l    9    . As young people like hand-painted pictures, he invites painters to draw patterns（图案）on the umbrella cover. To ensure quality（保证质量）, his studio makes o    10     1,000 umbrellas each year.

Artist Thomas Dambo from Denmark is well known for making giant trolls (巨人怪) out     1     trash and recycled Wood. He spent his time     2     (create) seventeen heads in a warehouse (仓库) for his giant trolls during COVID-19. The heads are believed to be around four to seven feet tall, with funny but a little bit scary expressions.

Dambo later added these pretty huge heads to giant trolls he had made in outdoor locations. These 15 to 21-foot-tall giant trolls     3     (hide) in the greenspace around Denmark. They include islands and parks     4     there are few people. He shared some information about their locations on the social media. “It’s a kind of treasure hunt, a gift for families in Denmark who may feel sad that they can’t go on vacation because of COVID-19”, said Dambo. “    5     trolls can help remind us that there are beautiful places in our backyards.”

Since 2014, Dambo     6     (put) a number of the wooden creatures (生物) in the green space and parks around the world. He has successfully turned trolls into eco-warriors. His trolls communicate with tourists and the world in     7     (usual) ways.

Dambo wants people to treat trash differently. More importantly, he wants people to realize the importance of recycling. He really hopes these special trolls will make people     8     (care) for the environment.

“My artworks focus on the problems people are facing in the modern world. I do hope it     9     (inspire) people to take better care of our planet,” Dambo said. “Trash has value, and recycling things has     10     (much) value—the emotional (情感的) value.”
