When the world stops, a Chinese delivery(投递) driver has continued working as the virus(病毒) spread across China. The delivery driver is Gao Zhixiao. He appeared on the cover of Time Magazine on March 19.

Born into a     1     family in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region(宁夏回族自治区). Gao went to Beijing     2     for a job at the age of 16. He tried different jobs to make a living. He worked as a shopping guide     3     he finally became a delivery driver.

After the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus(新冠病毒), Gao and his wife decided to stay     4     Beijing rather than return to Ningxia. There’s plenty of work for     5     to do during quarantine(隔离期). Gao drives more than 161 kilometers on his scooter(小型摩托车) to finish 40 to 70 orders every day.

Gao once received an order that he     6     to buy medicine for a patient from a hospital. He thought about it for a     7     , then picked up the order, because he thought the person might be in very great need of the medicine.

The customer was an elderly woman who lived alone. Gao first drove to her home to get the prescription(处方) paper. And then he rushed to the     8     to get the medicine. When he found that the woman hadn’t eaten, he not only helped cook a bowl of noodles with two boiled eggs but took out the litter when he     9     .

“I think the reason why Time picked me is that I helped an elderly person in need.     10     it is a warm story, I’m no different when dealing with anyone else.” he says, “I just hope my little bit can show the Western world the strong cohesion(凝聚力) of China!”

Gina is only 12 years old. She is a girl who is     1     of love.

At the     2     of four, she began to learn how to play the guitar. And she did     3     in it. She wanted to help the poor kids in her town, so she decided to raise money by     4     the guitar in the street. At     5    , only a few people gave her money. Three days later, she put a sign beside her, saying why she was doing so.    6     people saw the sign, they were all moved and started to help her     7     the work. Gina also sold her favourite things to collect money. When her classmates got to know this, they all began to     8     their old toys, clothes and books to collect money, too. Gina has raised money for two years, and now she has got     9     than $ 3, 000. She says she will continue to do something like this and help the poor     10    .

This is a true story. One evening a woman was     1     home when she saw a truck（卡车）close behind her. She drove more quickly to be far away from the truck,       2     when she sped up（加速）, the truck did, too. The     3     she drove, the faster the truck drove. The woman felt afraid, so she drove to a main street, hoping to     4     the truck in the traffic. But the truck ran a red light and went on     5     after her.

Finally, the woman drove her car into a service station and got off her car     6     for help. The truck driver didn’t     7     , instead he went out of his truck and ran to her car. He     8     the back door, and pulled out a man hiding（藏）in the back seat. The woman was running from the wrong person. The woman was saved     9     last.

From the place where the woman stopped her car at first, the truck driver saw a criminal（罪犯）in the woman’s car. He drove after her not to harm（伤害）but to     10     her.
