Have you ever enjoyed treats from the past? Ershi Wenchuang is a shop in my hometown. Its name basically means “    1     culture”, and it lives up to its name.

At the front was an old TV. A show from the 80s was playing. On the wall were     2     of movie stars and singers during the old days. There was also an old bike by the door. A white box with the word “popsicles (冰棍)” was put above the seat of the bike.

Walk in, and another old TV would     3     your eye. It was     4     to a video game: Super Mario! At first, I thought the game was boring. But once I found out my parents played it when they were kids, I was really excited to try it out. The game was easy but so interesting. I was     5     at how such a simple game could be so fun.

There are all kinds of     6     from the 70s, 80s and 90s sold in it. They’re     7     snacks and little toys such as DaDa Bubble Gum or wind-up frogs. In the end, I bought a little bag of preserved plums (话梅), the kind my mom used to eat. After walking out of the store I ate up the plums. They tasted so sweet. I thought, my parents could have such a fun childhood even though they went through many difficulties.
