Hi, friends! Do your parents encourage you to travel? Greg’s dream was to travel around Asia. He got the idea after he     1     a long bike ride. At first, he     2     his parents wouldn’t agree to let him go. He didn’t tell his parents his idea. He simply told his friend Brooks about it. Brooks also enjoyed     3     a bike. They made a plan to travel from Tokyo to Mumbai (孟买) by bike.

To pay     4     the trip, Greg and Brooks tried to save some money. Before setting out they told     5     parents about their plan. It was unbelievable     6     their parents agreed. And they got two new cameras from their parents. Then they could take some photos with them.

On their way, they saw deserts, rain forests and mountains. They visited modern cities and     7     villages. And they made many friends. They     8     learned two new languages — Indian and Japanese.

Eric is an English boy.     1     favorite subject is Chinese. After that, Norman paid the bill. They     7     ready to leave when the old lady’s son arrived. He held Norman’s hand and said, “Thanks to your help, my mother was     8     well.”

“You’re welcome. She makes me     9     my mom who lives in the countryside. I just did what a son should do.” said Norman. All the     10     around were moved by his kindness and showed respect to him.

Jim is an artist and environmentalist who loves animals very much. He often saw     1     dogs sleeping in some used tires (轮胎). An idea came into his mind, “Why not use these tires to make some comfortable     2     for the poor dogs?”

After that day, Jim started collecting old tires. He first cleaned them and     3     their tops. Next, he covered the holes in their bottoms with boards. The artist then painted each tire     4     bright colors. He also put something soft on the tires in order to make the beds more comfortable.     5    , he gave these colorful beds to local animal houses.
