Once I went to the post office to buy some magazines. When I was ready to leave, someone came nearer to me. I looked up and saw him old and thin, with a dirty coat on. I could see easily that he was a worker. I stood a little farther from him. I was in my new red coat.
He said he wanted to send some money home, but he didn't know how to fill out the form. He asked me for help. "But you can ask the cashier(出纳员)on duty," I said to him.
"I have asked her. But I still don't understand what she told me. Would you please help me?" Just then, my mobile phone rang. It was an excuse to refuse him. Hopelessly and sadly, he gave up asking for me and tried to find someone else who would help him.
As I came out, I became nervous. How could I refuse someone who was in need of help, especially such an old worker? Was it because he was poor and dirty?
I want to say sorry to him in this newspaper. It's been on my mind for a long time. And I hope to feel better by doing this.
Yours,
Li Fang
