One day. Mozart saw an old blind street-performer(街头卖艺人)    1    the violin at the street corner with a hat in front of him. He    2    the old man was playing one of his compositions(作品).The old man played for a    3    ，    4    nobody put money into his hat. Mozart asked the old man, “Do you often play compositions by Mozart?”“Yes，sir，”answered the old man. “Now everyone knows Mozart    5    they love his music.”“ Do you make a living(谋生)by playing the violin? ”The old man said he    6    Mozart took over the violin from the old man and began to play. He played so    7    that all the passers-by(过路人) stopped to    8    the wonderful music and    9    them money. Soon the old man felt surprised that the man could play so well. He asked Mozart，“Who are you，sir?”“ Your colleague(同行), a poor musician    10    you.”Then Mozart gave the violin back to the old man and left.

Last night one of my Chinese     1     took me to a concert of Chinese folk music. The piece which was played on the erhu made me very     2    . The piece had a simple name, Erquan Yingyue,     3     it was the most touching piece I’ve heard.

The music was written by Abing, a folk     4    . His mother died when he was very young. Abing’s father taught him to     5     many musical instruments, such as the drums, dizi and erhu, and by age 17, Abing     6     his musical ability. However, because of the     7     of his father, Abing’s life became worse.     8    , he had a serious illness and became blind. He lived on the streets and played music for a living.

By the end of his life, he could play over 600 pieces of music. Many of these were written by Abing     9    . Today, Abing’s Erquan Yingyue is a piece that all the great erhu masters play and praise. It has     10     one of China’s national treasures.
