One day, five people were waiting for an interview in a room of a company. They     1     not use the phone or the Internet inside the room, but they could do whatever they liked.

On the first day, they were excited. They     2     about their bright future. Unluckily, there was no interview that day.

They came again on the second day early. But to     3     surprise, there wasn’t any news about the interview, either. Two of them got upset.

On the third morning, they arrived at the company much     4    . Still no news came. Most of them     5     angry. Some thought the company didn’t care about them. Some regretted coming here. Only one man was     6     from others. He didn’t complain（抱怨）anything. He was happy all those three     7    .

The boss appeared in the late afternoon. He said their interview had ended and only the happy man was     8    . They asked the boss why he chose the man. He answered, “We want someone who can keep happy in every situation. Keeping happy is an ability. It can help people     9     better.”

We can’t control everything. But we can     10     something that makes us happy even if we are in trouble.

DNA is the whole “map” of the human body. It is something that all     1     have, and it tells the body what to do. DNA is the reason that we look like our parents, because we get some of the DNA to make our own.

People have been trying to understand the human body for a long time. In 1860, Mr. Mendel discovered why we look     2     to other people in our family. It is because of small things called “genes (基因)” in our body. In 1953, two scientists, Watson and Crick,     3     out that those small parts are real messages. They are     4     in the DNA with a special language. In 1961,     5     two scientists found the first “word” that they could understand in that language. It shows     6     DNA tells the cell (细胞) to build its parts. So far, scientists have found all the words in the DNA map,     7     we do not understand what they all do. By understanding what just one “word” means, we can     8     to save people from several illnesses. So the more we understand, the more doctors will be able to do.

Most people hope that this will help to make better medicine to help     9     people. Other people worry that when we learn more “words” and find out more information, we will use     10     the wrong way, just to make people more attractive (有吸引力的), or stop sick people getting jobs.
