Stan Lee was born in America in 1922. His real name is Stanley Lieber. With the help of his uncle, Lee became an assistant in Marvel in 1939. During that time, he only earned 8 dollars a month. In 1941, his first work Captain America came out and later he became the main comic-book writer and editor. He created more than 80% of Marvel’s characters, such as Iron Man and Spider-man. Those great characters made him well-known all over the world.
Lee carefully made the Marvel world so that most of the superheroes could appear in it together. And he even became a character in his stories, as he liked to play a role in the films. In the recent movie Venom, the audience could see him playing a passer-by, and he has such appearances in 35 other movies.
The following is what he once said, “I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important and meaningful things in people’s lives. Without it, they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you are able to entertain, you are doing a good thing.”
Lee died in 2018 at the age of 95. Though he has left, his superheroes will continue to live on.

But now you’d better thank your parents for their time and money spent on your musical training. A recent study suggests music lessons can make children have better memories than their peers (同龄人).
The Canadian study showed that after one year of musical training, children did better on a memory test than those who didn’t take music lessons.
The researchers made the children aged between 4 and 6 into two groups—one group of children took music lessons outside school, and the other didn’t take any musical training. In one year, they took four tests in different times. The results showed brain (大脑) development changes at least every four months.
The children taking music lessons not only did better in musical listening but also made faster progress in other ways, such as reading, writing, math and IQ.

Before that, he often heard his elder sister play the violin and he loved the classical music she played. “I wanted to beat her in something and I chose the piano,” Yun said.
At 4, several minutes of practice a day was enough. As Yun grew up, at the age of 7 and 8, he had to practice for four hours a day. The time kept going up after Yan was 12. Now, he needs to practice at least seven hours every day. He sleeps for only five to six hours a day, but he is still full of energy.
Yun never got tired of the piano. In fact, he had great fun playing it. “Music is my special luck, and it is a real enjoyment to be with it every day,” he said.
Yun worked hard and soon he stood out. From 2013 to now, Yun appeared at different music festivals, concerts and competitions and gave excellent shows. Yun said success or failure were not important and they would not affect his understanding of music or his plan for the future.

She says, “It's the time when you are learning about the world.” Margaret, who lives in London, likes to take pupils at three and four. However, she has made lots of exceptions (例外) for five-year-olds. She started teaching the violin in 1972 and she taught her children's five-year-old school friends at first.
Margaret's pupils have group lessons. Each group has about twelve pupils and each lesson takes an hour, once half a month. Each pupil also has one individual (一个人的) lesson a week with her. Parents have to attend the classes. It is important that the parents take an active interest in the lessons.
In Margaret's opinion, it's important for one to know why music sounds the way it does. Without knowing it, one can't become a great musician at all. So from the earliest lessons, pupils in her class learn to play by ear. They do not even try to read music (读懂乐谱) until they have been playing for several years. Margaret says that her method (方法) is not meant to produce great violinists. She always suggests that pupils who perform very well should leave and study the violin using more traditional methods.
