It was my first year teaching in a special school and I wasn’t sure what to expect at our school sports meeting. My students f    1     a lot of challenges, from mind learning disabilities to cerebral palsy（脑瘫）.

Mark was one of the latter. He had to get around in a wheelchair. But he always had a positive attitude and greeted everyone with a huge s    2    .

His classmates loved him, especially Mike, Andy and Lucas, three boys who were good at sport. I knew Mark wanted to be l    3     them.

W    4     track and field day came, Mike, Andy and Lucas placed well, giving the crowd something to cheer about. Mark sat on the sideline, cheering them on.

The final event of the day was the 400-metre race. Everyone was invited to either walk or run. We watched as they took off. Mike, Andy and Lucas all wanted to p    5     who the better athlete was.

But when the three reached the f    6     line, they stopped and turned to look behind them. At the back of the crowd was Mark, he was alone on the track with over half the distance left.

Mike, Andy and Lucas looked at each other, and a s    7     thought passed between them. Slowly they ran back towards their friend. They formed a circle around Mark and kept pace, cheering him on a    8     he had done for them before.

In the end, the four crossed the finishing line together to the excited shouts of their teachers and classmates. Seeing the look on Marks face, I came to u    9     what makes the Special Olympics so special. Everyone deserves their o    10     time to shine.

As we know, a true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart. Friends play an important part     1     everyone’s life. All of us, rich or     2     should have at least one or two true friends. I really want to tell all of you, “    3     a good friend I have!”

When I was 13, I moved to Shanghai with my parents. At that time, I met Jayce and she     4     my first and best friend. She is     5     outgoing and excellent than me. At school she helps me a lot.

Unluckily, both of my parents     6     because of a bad car accident two years later. I felt very sad and didn’t want to say anything, sitting there in silence（沉默）. I had to live alone and do all the things by     7    . After Jayce knew this, she asked me to live with her and her family. That was a turning point of my life. She spent more time talking with me and did many things to make me happy again. With their help, I     8     my middle school and kept on studying at the university.

This is an unforgettable     9     for me. During that time, I could not only spend every day with my best friend but also get to know the true     10     of the family. I want to give thanks for her family and hope they will be happy forever.
