How do you feel when you are fooled by others? No doubt, feel bad. There is nothing worse than falling for a joke and being a fool except one day. Yes, that’s Fools’ Day. Nobody will be angry to be an “April Fool”.
The headmaster at my school decided to play an April Fools’ joke on the students when I was in high school. On March 31, she announced that our school would hold a “Dress to Impress (加深印象) day”.
Girls were told to wear formal dresses and smart jackets, while a suit jacket and tie for each boy would be the best. And the teachers, we were told, would do the same.
On April Fools’ Day, many of us students came to school dressed in our best clothes.
“April Fools!” she said with a big smile on her face. “We just want to remind you that teachers have a sense of humor, too!”
Surely, all the teachers weren’t April Fools.

Jimmy’s dad heard my crying and rushed out to see what was going on.When he saw the problem,he quickly put me into his truck and went inside to telephone my mom and let her know he would take me to the hospital. As that day was April Fool’s Day,Mom was not buying it and really thought all this was a big joke.Mom was finally convinced by Jimmy’s mom. When she saw me,she broke down in tears because she felt so bad—she originally thought this was just a big prank(恶作剧).
I guess one could compare this to the story of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”.Since I had pulled pranks before,it is no wonder that my mom didn’t believe it.I as well as my mom was made to look like a fool that day.We both learned a valuable lesson.
