【推荐1】Don't be too concerned about money, because all it will do is distract you from achieving happiness. And the irony is that people think they will be happy when they have money.     1    . If you are happy and you have money, you can use it for happiness. If you are unhappy and you have money, you will use that money for more unhappiness. Because money is simply a neutral force.

Don't misunderstand me:     2    . I am not against anything. Money is a means. Your money will enhance your pattern, whatever it is good or bad.

    3    . They are ready, at any moment, to change their pattern, to change their ways, if more money is available somewhere else.

Once the money is there, then suddenly you are no longer yourself; you are ready to change.

This is the way of the worldly man. Remember, I don't call a person worldly because he or she has money.     4    . This applies to people with no money as well-they may simply be poor. Just being poor does not equal to being spiritual; and just being rich does not equal to being a materialist. The materialistic pattern of life is one in which money predominates over everything.

The non-materialistic life is one in which money is just a means: happiness predominates, joy predominates, your own individuality predominates.     5    , and you are not distracted.

Then suddenly you will see your life has a meaningful quality to it.

【推荐2】In all one’s lifetime it is oneself that one spends the most time being with or dealing with. But it is just yourself that one has the least understanding of. When you are going upwards in life you tend to overestimate yourself.     1     When you are going downhill you tend to underestimate yourself.

To gain a correct view of oneself and be a realist is important. You may look forward hopefully to the future but be sure not to expect too much, for ideals can never be fully realized.     2    

    3     Whether you think you are a towering tree or a blade of grass, a high mountain or a small stone, you represent a state of nature that has its own reason of existence. If you earnestly admire yourself you’ll have a real sense of self-appreciation, which will give you confidence. As soon as you gain full confidence in yourself, you’ll be enabled to fight any difficulty.

    4     Show yourself loving concern about your health and daily life. Unless you know perfectly well when and how to do yourself a favor, you won’t be confident and ready enough to resist the attack of illness. As you are aware, what a person physically has is but a human body that’s vulnerable (脆弱的) when expose to the elements.     5    

In a word, to get a thorough understanding of oneself is to get a full control of one’s life. Then one will find one’s life full of color and flavor.
