Nick Vujicic is a great speaker, born in Melbourne, Australia on the 4th of December, 1982. He has no arms and legs. There is no medical explanation for it. In school, he was the first disabled child to be integrated into the Australian school system. He was laughed at, avoided and not included on purpose from games. At age 6, Nick tried some prosthetics (假肢) but they were more of restriction than aid because they limited his movement. Apparently, he had learnt how to do some things without them. Unfortunately, he severely battled with depression at age 8. He felt he would always be a burden for the rest of his life. These thoughts made his prospects in life as a fantasy. He just had one desire arms and legs, that's all.
At age 10, though his home was a refuge from the external storms, he couldn't manage to deal with the rejections he faced outside. Then he tried to drown himself but the love he had for his parents discouraged him from doing so. Nick had his Bachelor's degree in commerce at Griffith University. One day, his mum noticed his situation affected his life and decided to show him a newspaper article that featured a man that had a severe disability, much more than Nick's.
From that moment on. Nick Vujicic became grateful for life. He also said he found peace after he got his relationship with himself. Although he couldn't make some things happen easily, he believed it was not what you had but what you did with it. Therefore, he frequently tells himself he is not afraid to fail or try again. Today, He writes up to 43 words per minute, can throw tennis balls, play the drums, get a glass of water and also answer a phone call.

Musical Aussie accents, and Aboriginal art exhibits made me wonder if I had entered without a visa. In fact I was a temporary employee, a public affairs unpaid intern(实习) for three months during the summer in order to engage myself in the culture of the country where I planned to study the next spring.
During the summer I read the Australian news every day. Working at the embassy allowed me to escape the U.S. for six hours per day and learn about what was going on across the planet. After reading the daily Australian and U.S. news I usually helped prepare a PowerPoint presentation for school kids who visited the embassy as part of a school activity. Depending on whether an embassy event was going on, I would attend weekly meetings to listen in on planning and see what I could do to help. Usually there were smaller tasks to be done such as creating visitors' guides.
The most fantastic event in which I participated was the visit of the Australian prime minister. As the only American among countless Australian media and staff, I felt comfortable and was kept busy taking pictures and recording door-stop interviews at famous sites such as the Capitol. But as an intern, you will not be inside, exposed to top-secret information, when it comes to special events.
Government work is a useful addition to one's experience. As an embassy employee you will gain invaluable knowledge while spending your summer in a culturally diverse workplace.

Either way, you've got to love yourself first and this can be tricky. Sure we all know that we're the apple of our parents' eyes, and that our Grandmas think we're great talents and our Uncle Roberts think that we will go to the Olympics, but sometimes it's a lot harder to think such nice thoughts about ourselves. If you find that believing in yourself is a challenge, it is time you build a positive sell-image and learn to love yourself.
Self-image is your own mind's picture of yourself. This image includes the way you look, the way you act, the way you talk and the way you think. Interestingly, our self-images are often quite different from the images others hold about us. Unfortunately, most of these images are more negative than they should be. Thus changing the way you think about yourself is the key to changing your self-image and your whole world.
The best way to defeat a passive self-image is to step back and decide to stress your successes. That is, make a list if you need to, but write down all of the great things you do every day. Don't allow doubts to occur in it.
It very well might be that you are experiencing a negative self-image because you can't move past one flaw or weakness that you see about yourself. Well, roll up your sleeves and make a change of it as your primary task. If you think you're silly because you aren't good at math, find a tutor. If you think you're weak because you can't run a mile, get to the track and practice. If you think you're dull because you don't wear the latest trends, buy a few new clothes. But remember, just because you think it doesn't mean it's true.
The best way to get rid of a negative serf-image is to realize that your image is far objective, and to actively convince yourself of your positive qualities. Changing the way you think and working on those you need to improve will go a long way towards promoting positive self-image. When you can pat(拍)yourself on the back, you'll know you're well on your way. Good luck!

Davis studied in a firefighting school for about three months and took part in classroom work, physical exercise, and hands-on training such as fighting live fires in buildings filled with straw.
Davis says the blindfold(蒙眼的)training prepared him for real fires. "By the time we get to a fire,if it’s going pretty good, the whole house will be filled with smoke. Davis believes his most important duty is making sure he’s prepared for any situation he might come across. To keep physically fit,he runs several times a week and works out. He takes classes to keep up his skills and trains regularly by fighting practice fires. Sometimes this includes cutting holes in roofs, which helps allow smoke to pass out and improves visibility for firefighters inside the building.
Firefighting means plenty of risks. Besides,Davis says·"You have to be willing to help any person you come across.” If someone is trapped,Davis or another firefighter will put himself at risk to get the person out. Davis says he is not afraid when he’s fighting a fire. He does what’s needed.
