Basically, a phone interview is the first step in the hiring process, as it gives the employer a glance of your background, personality, and overall fit for the position.     1

1. Tell Me About Yourself

More often than not, an interviewer will begin with “tell me about yourself.”    2     You don't want to sound too rehearsed, but putting down a few notes on your background can help make this a much easier question to respond to.

2. Prepare for Behavioral Questions

3    While they aren't always asked on a phone interview, they can tell the interviewer a bit more about your personality without having to meet you in person.

These questions, such as "teil me about a time you demonstrated leadership" are fairly common, and also easy to prepare for in advance. Take a few minutes to write down bullet points on a time you were a leader or overcame a difficulty.    4    Therefore, writing down a few ideas in advance can only help get those creative juices flowing for when some unexpected questions are asked.

3. Prepare to Explain Employment Gaps

Some individuals have employment gaps in their resume. For most, this relates to college and school breaks, etc.    5    Thinking about these gaps beforehand gives you the advantage in terms of being prepared for the line of questioning.

Remember that a phone interview may be the most important part, as it's going to solidify a good first impression that will help carry you throughout the rest of the process.

A.Behavioral questions are huge.
B.However, these gaps should be avoided if possible.
C.You never know what type of question will be asked.
D.These questions need you to describe your preparation for the target job.
E.But sometimes this means explaining them to avoid making you look bad.
F.Preparing for it requires you to describe your goals that match the position.
G.With that in mind, you can prepare some well-thought-out answers for the commonly asked questions.

【推荐1】How to choose a college major?

For you to be able to choose a college major that makes sense for you, you first need to figure out what you want out of a college major. For some people, knowing they will almost always be able to find a job throughout their lives is most important. For others, being able to pursue a particular intellectual interest is the critical factor. Most people are motivated by some combination of factors that they weigh in balance. These factors will guide you towards the answer to the question, " What college major is right for me?"     1

Your Interests

Your interests are an important part of picking a major. If you really dislike what you are studying, you will be miserable.     2    . So it is essential that you are actually interested in what you are studying.

    3

You should also consider what you're good at when you think about how to choose your major.

This doesn't mean that you should definitely major in whatever you are best at in high school. For one thing, you will probably discover new talents in college as you take courses in areas that weren't available to you in high school. For another thing, the thing that you' re "best" at is not necessarily what matches best with all your other priorities and goals.

Your Future Career

4     . For some majors, it's fairly clear what sort of job the degree will lead to. A degree in teaching will lead to teaching, a degree in nursing to nursing, and so on. For others, it's less clear.

5    . Thus, in terms of a future career, don't just think of what job title you will be qualified for, because those things shift all the time. Think about the skills you will learn in your major, and how much those skills are in demand.

To sum up, we need to take various factors into consideration when choosing a major.

A.Your Abilities
B.Your Efforts
C.Here are some factors you will probably want to consider
D.However, it's important to remember that it's finally your major
E.It makes sense to consider what kind of job prospects you will have
F.A degree in communications or sociology could lead to a variety of jobs
G.Additionally, you won't be particularly motivated to complete your coursework

A gratitude journal is a diary or notebook in which you write down what you are thankful for, also known as “gratitudes”. It doesn’t have to be special or fancy just something you can write in and keep. Clinical psychologist Dr. Emma Hepburn believes, “Writing ‘gratitudes’ down means you focus on what you’re grateful for and your brain will remember it more.”

    2

Gratitude is being thankful for the good things in life, however big or small they might be. Dr. Hepburn says, “Noticing what you appreciate and enjoy creates good emotions, which help your well-being.” It can help you feel more joyful and enthusiastic. But it isn’t just about good thing.     3    To recognize both the positives and negatives, you need spend time thinking about what is good in your life and what you are grateful for to see a bigger picture of your life.

How do I know what to write?

Ask questions to help you think about what you’re thankful for, such as “Who made me laugh today?”, or “What made me feel happy today?”    4    For example, “I’m grateful for my friend lending me his favorite pen when I forgot mine”. This helps focus on what you really appreciate. By wring down what you appreciate rather than just saying it, you’ll have more positive feelings because it takes longer to write than to think or speak.    5    And you can read it when you’re having a bad day.

Why not have a go by writing three things you’re grateful for each day?

A.Why should I be grateful?
B.Who should I be grateful for?
C.It gives you benefits now and into the future.
D.The more detailed your answer are, the better.
E.It’s completely up to you what you use as your gratitude journal.
F.There are also times when you get stuck worrying or feeling scared.
G.Also, you will have a record of all the good things you’ve experienced.
