Let’s ride bicycles

Good morning, everyone! I’m Jack from Honor Senior high school. The topic of my speech is “Let’s ride bicycle”.

As is known to all, with the     1    (improve) of people’s living standards, cars have become a popular means of transport,     2    (bring) great convenience to our life.     3    , they have also caused some problems such as air     4    (pollute) and traffic jams.

How can we solve the problems then? As far as I am concerned, riding bicycles is a good solution. For    5     thing, bicycles don’t need     6    (some) petrol and they are energy-saving. For another, bicycles are environmentally     7    (friend) because they won’t give off waste gas. What’s more, riding bicycles is a good way for us     8    (exercise) and it is beneficial to our health.

Some unusual words describe how a person spends his or her time. For example, someone who likes to spend a lot of time sitting or     1     (lie) down while watching television is sometimes called a couch potato. A couch is a piece of furniture for people to sit on.

I think students should make a good understanding of companies    5    big companies are afraid that new employees without experience are not likely to do the job well.
