After    1     that I was going to be my aunt's bridesmaid, I felt so    2     that I didn't sleep very well the night before her wedding day. Although I was tired, I didn't mind     3    up early the next morning to go to my aunt's house to get dressed up. I put on my blue dress and my aunt, of course, wore a white silk dress. When my aunt finally appeared at the back of the church,     4     a bunch of flowers, everybody looked at her with    5     smiles. After the wedding. I left the church    6     slowly behind my aunt and her husband. In the evening, we had a celebration party. Everybody was very happy,     7    and    8     until midnight.

Last night, I stayed up till 12 o’clock to write my English reading report which I thought     1     be handed in this morning. Because my English was poor, I asked my cousin, who was good at English writing, to do me a favour. Today, however, my English teacher told me I didn’t     2     hand in the report so urgently. She asked me whether I wrote the English report by myself. I told her the truth because I     3     not tell a lie. Surprisingly, she didn’t get angry with me. Instead, she said that I     4     do it on my own whatever the result. From then on, I knew I     5     do my homework by myself whether it’s easy or difficult.

I came to love stage design    1    . When I was in the ninth grade, my teacher Ms Weaver asked me to join her stage design team for a play. I told her that I didn’t know anything about stage design. But Ms Weaver said, “Give it a try,    2    you have a talent for it,” so I became part of her team. And    3    , Ms Weaver turned out to be right—I was good at stage design! Ms Weaver was strict and spoke     4    , but she was always encouraging and inspiring. For example, if we could not figure out what kind of stage design to create for a scene, she would say, “    5    , think about the plot from a different point of view. You never know what will pop into your mind!” I have to say, learning stage design greatly broadened my mind. And thanks to Ms Weaver, I began to have more confidence in my own creativity, and I developed such a strong interest in stage design that I realised I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing it.
