It was 1978，I was 10 years old and lived in Calcutta, a city of East India with my family. I could not forget     1     year as this city faced a disaster. A heavy flood in Gangers river prevented the people     2     (live) the normal city life.

At that time, our school remained closed. One of school friends Sandhya used to stay in Subhas Nagar,     3     was situated in a little     4     (low) area across the railway line. The area     5     (cover) with water, just then my friend’s grandfather became sick. The outer city connection with this area was cut    6    , so my friend’s father crossed the watery path with the help of bamboo based boat in order to call a doctor. Last year I started to learn Tai Chi(太极) to improve my health and reduce my stress. When Robert Lee was in primary school, he was more than     1     (happy) to see his classmates throwing away half-eaten sandwiches after lunch     2     his parents had taught him and his elder brother not to waste food. “They said it was bad,” says Robert, 27.

While     3     (study) finance and accounting at New York University, Robert remembered this lesson and joined Two Birds One Stone, a food rescue club at school     4     delivered, five days a week, uneaten pasta, vegetables and other leftovers from the dining hall to nearby homeless     5     (shelter).

When Robert and fellow club member Louisa Chen entered a college competition, they came up with a slightly different idea for a food rescue non-profit group—    6     program that wouldn’t have a donation minimum, would operate seven days a week, and would be staffed     7     (entire) by volunteers.

Surprisingly, the idea stood out. Robert and Louisa Chen won the first place.     8     the $1,000 prize, they founded Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) in July 2013. In just the first few weeks, Robert’s steam delivered a donation of enough noodles and meatballs to feed more 200 homeless people in New York City. Only a year into his finance job, Robert gave up his six-figure salary     9     (focus) on RLC. So far the organization     10     (reach) sixteen cities around the country.
