Professional photographer John Cannici, 35, and his wife Nikki Cannici, 34, of Massachusetts are parents to not just one, but two sets of adorable twins.

On Feb. 5, John of West on Jade Photography, decided to turn the camera on his own family—and the results are beyond precious. “The reaction to our photo was completely unexpected, and we are amazed to see it shared across the world,” John tells People. “we think it is the complete joy and connection you see between kids in the photo that made it go viral,” he continues. “Whatever it is, it is great to see our photo shared days that shows nothing but love.”

John and Nikki, who have been married for over 10 years, welcome twins Nico and Siena via IVF (in vitro fertilization) using two embryos in 2014. And they were surprised when they learned Nikki was pregnant with twins again last year as just one embryo had been transferred during the second IVF attempt, John says. Identical sisters Gia and Gemma were born on Jan. 26.

While the first photo shows the older twins holding hands and all smiles, John couldn’t help himself in sharing a second shot of the twins. He also shared a gorgeous shot of wife Nikki while she was pregnant. “She is beautiful,” says John.

【推荐1】I'm a student in my third year at Robert Gordon University, but I also work 35 hours a week at Sainsbury's to make ends meet.

I constantly have to force myself to stay awake, and to be alert, whatever it takes. The work I do at Sainsbury's is very physical like stacking shelves. I am lucky because the amount I lift at work is nothing compared with the weight I lift in the gym. I know I have the strength to bear it.

I am originally from Nigeria. I came here when I was seven. Money was always tight. My parents gave me everything I needed, but there was no money for luxuries. I worked hard at school though and, with the help of professors, I got the best A﹣level grades in my class.

Unfortunately, though I had applied for "settled "British residential status the Home Office waited until I was in sixth form to approve my application. That meant I was not eligible for a student loan. The only way I could afford to go to university was that I got a job that would pay for all my living costs and my parents paid for my tuition fees.

I don't have much time to socialize because of my job. Ideally, I’d like to have more time to study so I can excel at my course. Yes, I have a lot on my plate, but working hard isn't new for me. Growing up, my parents cultivated in me the importance of working hard for what I want in life.

My dream is to get a job in the NHS. But now, I'm just focused on trying to get the best grades I can. Whenever I find life hard, I tell myself this is about my future.

【推荐2】When Breath Becomes Air gives an autobiography about Paul Kalanithi’s experiences as a doctor and as a terminally ill patient. The book discusses Kalanithi’s longtime fascination with questions of human biology, mortality (死亡率), and meaning. It then examines how these questions are heightened by the author’s own confrontation (冲突) with lung cancer, sickness, and death.

Kalanithi’s father was a doctor from New York City. The family moved to Kingman, Arizona, so that his father could pursue his medical career when Paul was young. His father worked long hours and was rarely home, which convinced young Paul that the last thing he wanted to do was to become a doctor himself. Paul’s mother was concerned about the weak school system in Kingman, and so gave a long list of literary classics which she made Paul and his brothers read. As a result, Paul became fascinated by literature. He attended Stanford University, from which he graduated in 2000 with a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Human Biology. He earned an M. Phil in History Philosophy of Science and Medicine from the University of Cambridge. In 2007, Paul graduated from the Yale School of Medicine with the highest honors. He returned to Stanford for residency training (住院医生实习) in Neurological Surgery. As he neared the end of his 7-year residency he was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. The hopes and dreams he and Lucy, his wife, have held to are dramatically changed.

When Breath Becomes Air gives an account of Kalanithi’s transformation from an innocent medical student troubled by the question of “what, given that all organisms die, makes a virtuous and meaningful life” into a young neurosurgeon (神经外科医生) at Stanford, guiding patients toward a deeper understanding of death and illness, and finally into a patient and a new father to a baby girl, confronting his own mortality. What makes life worth living in the face of death? What do you do when the future, no longer a ladder toward your goals in life, flattens out into a continuous present? What does it mean to have a child, to care for a new life as another fades away? These are some of the questions Kalanithi wrestles with in this deeply moving, delicately observed autobiography.

Paul Kalanithi died in March 2015, while working on this book, yet his words live on as a guide and a gift to us all. “I began to realize that coming face to face with my own mortality, in a sense, had changed nothing and everything,” he wrote. “Seven words from Samuel Beckett began to repeat in my head: ‘I can’t go on. I’ll go on.’” When Breath Becomes Air is an unforgettable, life-confirming reflection on the challenge of facing mortality and on the relationship between doctor and patient, from a gifted writer who became both.

【推荐3】I was born and raised in the tiny town of Lafayette, Georgia. It’s a rather boring town, but luckily my mom loved traveling so we hit the road pretty frequently. I was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (脊肌萎缩症) at the age of two and have been in a wheelchair ever since. My wheelchair and I have been to 14 countries and have plans to visit many more. Since graduating from the University of West Georgia with a degree in marketing last year, I’ve put all of my energy into growing my website. Aside from traveling and working on my blog, I love going to concerts and trying new foods.

My mom was a teacher so she was off work every summer. We used that time to travel locally and took a lot of road trips along the East Coast. Disney World was a popular choice. When I turned 15, we tried our hand at traveling internationally and went to the Bahamas. These trips made me fall in love with travel and showed me that there’s so much out there in the world.

My mom always told me “If you can’t stand up, stand out” and I try to live by that mentality daily. I might not be able to stand physically, but I can stand. I can stand for anything that I desire, like traveling. A disability is not going to limit me from seeing the world. I refuse to even entertain the thought that my disability could have that sort of power.

It is much more difficult to travel as a wheelchair user. Over my life, I have met numbers of challenges, especially when I was younger. But I’ve learned to be positive no matter when trouble comes to me.

1. What do we know about the author?
A.He dislikes living in his town.
B.He was born with a severe illness.
C.He began travelling abroad at 15.
D.He was poorly educated due to his illness.
2. How does the author sound in the passage?
A.UnfortunateB.Optimistic
C.IndependentD.Warm-hearted
3. What does the underlined part mean?
A.You must stand up by yourself.
B.You should accept your disability.
C.You must learn how to use a wheelchair.
D.You should have will and great character.
