These days, claw game machines(抓娃娃机器) are becoming more popular in theatres, malls and restaurants in many Chinese cities.
A claw machine is a glass box with colourful dolls or toys inside. You toss(仍) in some coins, usually two yuan, and use a metal claw to grab(抓取) a doll. If you are lucky, the metal claw will grab the doll and move it to the machine’s delivery slot(取货槽) without dropping it.

Li Ying loved this machine in 2010. She has spent several thousand yuan playing them. She has about 50 dolls at home, like Micky Mouse and Pikachu. “Only two yuan for a chance to grab a cute doll. You can have a try,” said Li. “When I get a doll after trying many times, I feel very happy.”
Xu Zixuan, 26, studied music in Singapore. She is also a big fan of the game. When she returned to China in March last year, she chose to work in a claw machine shop. Her work is to clean the shop, check the machines and refill them. Working with different kinds of dolls makes her happy, she said.
