After your hard work on the homework about the history of this city, we have decided to visit the Maritime Museum. Here we are going to have a tour and learn about the sea and river in our city. We are going to meet a guide. He will show us around the museum. Please read the information for your homework carefully. Because our guide will ask you some questions about it. We will also get the chance to go inside a 200-year-old trading boat. This boat is very famous. After visiting the museum, we’ll enjoy a beautiful boat trip along the river near the museum.   

The trip is from10:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. on May 25th. And you can return home as soon as we get back to school. Here is the day’s timetable:

10:00 a.m.: Meet in front of the school.

10:15 a.m.: Walk to the station to catch the train to the museum.

10:45 a.m.: Meet our guide-visit the museum and boat.

11:45 a.m.: Free time to see the rest of the museum.

12:30 p.m.: Lunch (one hour).

1:30 p.m.: Meet me in front of the museum. (Don’t be late.)

1:45 p.m.: Boat trip on the river.

2:15 p.m.: Walk back to school.

Please make sure that you are at school on time. The school is paying for the trip. All of you have to bring your lunch, water, a camera, a pencil or pen, good shoes and an umbrella in case (以防) it rains.

Long long ago, there was a spider(蜘蛛). She lived in a field. She liked the field and planned to stay there for the rest of her life.

One day, the spider caught a bug(小虫子). The bug said, “If you let me go, I will tell you something important. It can save your life.” The spider stopped and listened carefully.

“You’d better get out of the field.” the bug said. “The harvest is coming!”

The spider smiled and said, “What is the harvest you are talking about? You are just telling me a story.”But the bug said, “Oh, no, it is true. The owner of this field is coming to harvest. You might be killed by machines if you stay here.”

The spider said, “I don’t believe you. I have lived here for a long time, and the owner has never come here.” And then the spider ate the bug for lunch.

The next day was a beautiful sunny day. As the spider was going to have a rest, she saw some thick clouds moving toward her. She could hear the sound of a big machine, and she said to herself, “What would that be? Is the bug right?” She wanted to run away, but it was too late.

Sixteen years ago a boy gave me an important gift. It was a smile.

It was the early autumn of my first year at a middle school, and my old school was far away.    16    I was very lonely, and afraid to make friends with anyone. Every time I heard the other students talking and laughing, I felt my heart break.    17    

Then one day, my classmates talked happily with their friends, but I sat at my desk unhappily as usual. At that moment, a boy entered the classroom. I didn’t know who he was. He passed me and then turned back. He looked at me, with a smile.

    18    It made me feel happy, lively and warm. That smile changed my life. I started to talk with other students and made friends. Day by day, I became closer to everyone in my class.    19    

One day I asked him why he smiled, but he couldn’t remember smiling at me!
