One sunny morning, we go on a class trip in Green Park. On the way, we sing and tell interesting stories. We are looking forward to a ______ holiday.

In the ______, when we have our picnic at three o’clock, it begins to rain. Sadly, no one ______ an umbrella. We run around but we can find ______ place to hide (躲藏). It’s a long way before we get to the visitors’ center. And our small compass (指南针) shows that we go to the ______ way. We can’t find our way!

The four travelers walk a few miles and then come to a big ditch (壕沟). It’s very wide (宽的). There are a lot of rocks (岩石) in the ditch.

“How can we cross the ditch?” Dorothy asks her friends.

“We can’t fly over it,” the Scarecrow says. “And we can’t jump over it. So we must stay here.”

The Lion looks at the ditch and says, “I can jump over it.”

“Can you?” the Scarecrow says. “That’s good! You can take us across on your back, one by one.”

“Who wants to go first?” the Lion says. He’s a little afraid first but he wants to help his friends.

“Me!” the Scarecrow says and he gets on the Lion’s back. The Lion jumps across the ditch easily. Then he jumps back and takes Dorothy and Toto. Finally he takes the Tin Woodman across the ditch.

The Lion is tired after his five big jumps.

“Let’s have a rest before we start walking again,” he says.

Later in the afternoon they come to a wide river. They can see a beautiful country on the other side of it. There are green fields and a lot of flowers.

You know that I am always looking for new ways to make money.

    46     Lots of my neighbors are looking for someone to help with their gardens. It’s a great job.

    47     The first job goes very well. I cut the grass and clean up the garden. Mrs. Brown is very happy. She pays (付费) me 10 yuan.     48     Mrs. Jones has a big garden and it is very dirty. When I clean up the garden, she pays me 15 yuan.

My name is Tony. Here is my design for my dream home. It is a house made of glass and it has a garden. It is not far from the sea.

It is a smart house with a library. There are one thousand books in it! There is a big 3D TV in the living room. How cool it is to watch my favorite film on it! Moreover, there is one thing special: My house can keep itself clean! I don’t need to do housework any more.

The house is a green house. There is a garden in front of the house. Many flowers are in it. And a small lake is in the garden too. At weekends I can watch fish swim around by the lake.

There is also a mini airport (机场) in it so I can fly to other places in my plane if I want to go shopping or do some other things.

Does the house sound cool? Maybe in 20 years my dream will come true.
