文章大意:本文为一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了蜘蛛侠以及他受欢迎的原因。

Do you want to be super strong and have the ability to fly? Few people think about having the powers of a spider. Although it may sound strange, this is one of the world’s most popular superheroes—Spider-Man, named Peter Parker, who first showed up as a comic book (漫画书) character in 1962.

At first, the comic’s publishers didn’t think Spider-Man would go popular. Most superheroes at that time were masculine (有男子气概的) and successful but our Parker is just a poor and childish rookie (新手) reporter. However, the Spider-Man comics sold so well that the next year he got his own book series (系列) called: The Amazing Spicier-Man. And now along with the superhero are lots of Spider-Man movies, cartoons and video games.

In total, there are 15 Spider-Man movies and spin-offs (衍生作品), however, Spider-Man only plays the leading role in nine of them. Eight of those are live-action movies (真人电影), while one is cartoon. Three actors have played Spider-Man in live-action movies during the past 20 years, and they all showed up in the 2021 movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man is not smart and handsome like Superman, nor is he rich and cool like Iron Man, or big and strong like the Hulk. He always has problems in his life. Sometimes, he also finds it hard to use his power in the right way. At first, he just wants to make some money with his power. But after failing to protect his uncle, he finally learns what he is supposed to do with his power. A man with great power like him is responsible (有责任的) for using the power for good instead of only for himself. Ever since then, he has been seen to save the world at different crime scenes in every corner of the city, no matter how small or how big the crime is.

Characters like Spider-Man have reminded us that we can all be superheroes. Even as common as people around us, we can still do something for good with our own power. That’s probably why Spider-Man earned the name “friendly neighborhood hero” among its fans and has always been many people’s most loved superhero for so long.

6. This year marks Spider-Man’s ________ birthday.
A.15thB.20thC.61st
7. The second paragraph is about ________.
A.the achievement of Spider-ManB.the popularity of Spider-ManC.the spirit of Spider-Man
8. According to the third paragraph, which one is TRUE?
A.Spider-Man turned up in 32 movies in total.
B.Spider-Man was the main character in each Spider-Man movie and spin-offs.
C.Spider-Man was played by three different men in Spider-Man movies.
9. Spider-Man is called the “friendly neighborhood hero” because ________.
A.he is smart, rich, strong and successful like other superheroes
B.he has problems in his life just like some neighbors around us
C.he shows us that even common people like us can all be superheroes
10. What can we learn from Spider-Man?
A.If you want to achieve something big, then dream big.
B.With great power comes great responsibility.
C.Nothing that’s worth having comes easy.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了垃圾食品对青少年的不良影响,以及不吃垃圾的最佳方式。

It’s hard to say no to junk food. However, eating too much junk food can harm your brain, especially if you’re between the ages of 10 and 19.

“Junk food shapes teenagers’ brains in ways that are harmful to their ability to think, learn and remember. It can also make it harder to control impulsive(冲动的)behaviors,” said Amy Reichelt, a brain expert at Western University, Canada.

Reichelt and two other researchers reviewed more than 100 studies about how poor food choices can influence teen brains. They found teenagers are more sensitive(敏感的)to foods with a lot of fat and sugar, as their brains are not yet fully formed.

Teen brains are still developing the ability to control themselves. The prefrontal cortex(前额皮质)is the part of the brain that helps us do this. However, this part doesn’t fully develop until we are in our early 20s.

Besides, teen brains get more excited from junk food because it is regarded as a reward(奖励). When we eat junk food, the parts of the brain will make us feel good, which are even more sensitive when we are young.

Reichelt and her team did their own study using mice, whose brains develop much like our own. They discovered that “teenage” mice that had a high-fat diet(饮食)performed worse on memory tests than those eating a normal diet.

So, what’s the best way to say no to junk food? Researchers suggest exercise. When we exercise, the brain’s reward system becomes less sensitive to food. Exercise also helps our brains grow and become better able to make smart decisions.

11. Whose brain is more likely to be harmed by junk food?
A.A middle-aged teacher’s.
B.An eleven- year-old child’s.
C.An old expert’s.
12. The second paragraph is written to _______.
A.describe what junk food is
B.explain why teenagers like junk food
C.show how junk food can harm teen’s brains
13. Why is it hard for teenagers to turn down junk food?
A.Because they are more sensitive to the joy that junk food offers.
B.Because their brains are fully developed.
C.Because they need energy for their development.
14. Why did the writer mention the study on mice?
A.To introduce a topic.B.To show his own opinion.C.To support the main idea.
15. According to the researchers, how can exercise help us refuse junk food?
A.It gets the brain’s reward system more sensitive.
B.It makes the brain have less strong wish for junk food.
C.It helps humans make quick decisions.

文章大意:本文主要讲述了有限管理和利用时间的相关建议。

Do you ever wish you have more time? Everyone gets the same amount of time each day.     16     As a popular saying says, “Work smarter, not harder.”

The most important way to manage your time is to set priorities(优先权).     17     Also, consider whether or not they are urgent(紧要的) if they need to be done right away. It can be easy to forget important tasks that aren’t urgent, so make time for them.

Decide ahead of time what you’re going to do at certain times each day. Schedule time not only to meet people but also to do things alone. Then you can make sure everything gets done.

18     Are you smarter in the morning, afternoon or evening? Schedule difficult tasks for times you feel good, and save easy ones for the times you’re tired.

Write down what you need to do and when. I keep two to-do lists: one for the present tasks and one for larger projects I’m working on.     19     And I don’t get discouraged by looking at a long list of items I can’t finish. I focus on the shorter list of each day’s tasks.

20     When someone wants to give you a task, think carefully. Is it really important enough to spend your valuable time on? Could someone else do it instead?

In the end, using time well is about making a good plan and sticking to it.

A.That way I can make sure I don’t forget anything.
B.Make sure which of your tasks is the most important.
C.Think about the time of day you work best.
D.Say no to things that aren’t so important.
E.But there are some ways to use those hours better.
