“Shared-grandmas” is a team of retired （退休的）women in the southwest of China. They help the working parents ________ up the children from school and help the kids with their homework. These working parents have no relatives or friends to help them, so they felt really thankful for ________ “shared-grandma” did.

Deng, 66, is ________ member of the team who took part in the program. Every workday, she picks up the children from school, and stays with them while they finish their homework and play in the community（社区）room ________ their parents pick them up. “I thought I had nothing to do ________ the volunteer job because of my age. However, ________ difference the job makes to my life! Now I feel young with the kids and my life is much ________.” she said. She thought the activity is great and worth developing in other places in the country. “The retired women ________ in the community to take part in this public service. The interactions（互动）between the families in need and ‘shared grandmas’ are both helpful. The feelings of happiness mean a lot to ________, Peng Mei, from Shipingcun community, said.

The “shared-grandmas” program began in Chengdu in 2019. Since then, it ________ a new style of public happiness—taking care of the young and cheering the old up.

After a long day at school, sleepy and hungry, I walked home with my heavy schoolbag. Dealing with the heavy ________ was really hard for me. I managed to understand chemistry and ________ sleepiness at the same time.

Later, I ________ the sound of the front door opening. And I waited for it — the sound of my mom singing. ________ she didn’t sing well, it made me excited. I ________ put down my book and rushed down to greet my mom. We bugged each other and talked for a while. I liked it especially when my mom was ________. Her energy seemed to flow down me and I was able to face the stress again.

Sometimes I wonder how my mom can still be positive after coming back from work. Every weekday she ________ early in the morning to go to work and spends hours on the bus. At a ________ factory she works standing for the whole day and draws patterns for clothes over and over again. After work, my mom sometimes gets stuck in traffic for two hours on her way back home. When I ________ my school life with her work life, I should not be the one to complain. At least I have something ________ to do at school. I was pleased that my mom lives her life with a cheerful heart. Seeing her happiness makes me feel good too.
