After school clubs

Tom, Jim and Sophia want to join some after school clubs. Please read their interests and match them with the clubs.

It’s great to hear that you can come and stay with us for the summer! We are looking forward to seeing you. Let me tell you something about our house.

Here’s a picture of my house. This is not a very big house. There is a lawn （草坪） in front of my house. When it is sunny, I often play with my Kitty on the lawn. In the house, there are four bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. There is a kitchen of course. On the left, there is a bathroom, a bedroom, and a living room. My room is between the living room and bathroom. I read and sleep here. The living room is large and my father and mother meet uncles and aunts here. On the right are three bedrooms and a kitchen. My father and mother sleep in a big bedroom. When guests （客人） come, they stay in the other two small bedrooms. The kitchen is between the two small bedrooms. My mother is a good cook. She makes very tasty （可口的）dishes. Father and I like them very much.

How do you celebrate （庆祝） your birthday?Eat delicious food? Get presents? Play with friends?American boy Zach Harmon celebrates his birthday by helping others.

Zach comes from Wisconsin, US. He is a seventh-grade boy. Every April, he holds a food drive to celebrate his birthday. A food drive is an event to collect canned and boxed food for the hungry. Then he gives the food to the local charity（地方慈善机构）.

He started making the donations（捐赠） when he was 8. At first, he used his extra birthday money to buy food for the charity. Then he started the drive. He called it the “Z﹣Drive. ”His family helps him tell people about it through e﹣mails and flyers （传单）.

Last year, Zach had his biggest drive yet. He collected more than 2, 000 donations. This year, his aim is 2, 500. “It feels really good to do something for someone else,”“Zach said. “Instead of birthday presents, my family gives me food now. ”
