Sometimes the hardest thing about feelings is sharing them with others. Sharing your feelings helps you both when your feelings are good and when they aren’t so good. Sharing also helps you to get closer to people you care about and who care about you.
Before you can share your feelings with someone, you have to know what feelings you have. Making a list of your feelings can help. You can do this in your head or by writing them out on a piece of paper, or even by drawing pictures.
If you’re feeling sad, worried or upset, you’d better tell someone. If you keep such feelings locked inside, they can even make you feel sick! So if you talk with someone who cares about you, like your mom or dad, you will start to feel better. But what if you don’t want to talk with your mom or dad? Then find another trusted (可信赖的) adult. Maybe this person can help you talk with your mom and dad about your problem.
When you have known who you can talk with, you need to pick a time and a place to talk. If you think it’s hard to say what’s in your mind, write it down on a piece of paper. If the person doesn’t understand what you mean, try explaining it in a different way. Is there anything you think could be done to make things better? If so, say it.
46. How do you feel about sharing feelings with others?A.Useless. | B.Popular. | C.Difficult. | D.Important. |
A.How to say what we think about. | B.What we need to talk with parents. |
C.Why we need to share our feelings. | D.Where we can talk about our feelings. |
A.give your friends a phone call | B.explain them in a different way |
C.put off sharing them with others | D.write them down on a piece of paper |
It’s important to learn how we can protect the environment. Here are 5R rules for us.
Reduce If you want to reduce waste, you should use things more cleverly. A large number of trees are being cut down to make paper. If everyone uses paper carelessly, soon we would not have any trees left. Other things are also being wasted, and people don’t know what to do with the waste in big cities. So it is necessary to reduce the amount (数量) of waste we produced.
Reuse You should always think of reusing things before throwing them out. For example, give the clothes you do not use or the ones that are too small to the poor. In a family, you may pass on such clothes to younger brothers or sisters.
Recycle Bottles, cans and paper can easily be recycled. By doing so we save lots of time and money. For example, coke cans are sent to a factory, where they are smashed flat and melted. The metal can be used to make new coke cans.
Recover When you buy a box of apples, there may be a few rotten (腐烂的) ones. You have two choices: one is to throw the apples away; the other is to throw the rotten ones and keep the good ones. In this way, you are recovering the eatable parts of food.
Repair If one of the legs of your table is broken, you should repair it. If you want to buy something newer and better, it is better for you to sell the old thing, or give it to people who can use it after repairing it.
Learn the rules to protect our environment. Let’s try our best to make the earth cleaner and more beautiful.

A father bought a kite for his son. The son couldn’t wait to fly it. So, on the next windy day, they took the kite to a park.
First, the father taught his son to fly the kite. Soon, the son was flying the kite high in the air. When it couldn’t go higher, the son realized something. “The string (线) is holding the kite down,” he said to himself. “If I cut it, it can fly higher.”
The son cut the string. After that, the kite flew up a little more. However, the kite didn’t rise for long. It slowly came down until it landed in a tree far away. The son was surprised.
“I thought the kite could fly higher without the string,” he said. “What happened?”
“The string wasn’t holding the kite down,” said the father. “It was helping it stay higher. After you cut the string, it didn’t have any support.”
Really, rules are like the string that seems to hold us down in our daily life. But, without them, we can’t fly high like the kite. We should never let go of them.
