Many of them work full-time and then come home to a second job—taking care of their homes and families. These working women say one of their biggest problems is housework.

In the United States, working women do about 75% of the housework. Many of their husbands say they want to help. But then they burn the rice or they can’t find the pans. They ask so many questions that their wives decide it is easier to do the job themselves.

Some women go to Mothers Camp just to get a break from housework. For two days they don’t cook, they don’t clean, they don’t look after their children or husbands. What do they do? They enjoy warm, sunny weather, walking, swimming or boating in a clear blue lake and sing songs around the campfire. They relax away from home. They have a really wonderful vacation at Mothers Camp.

Do you ever wish you were as thin as a model (模特) or as strong as your favorite football player? Maybe you wish you were taller or just thinner a little. Those thoughts are a natural part of growing up.

But learning what you can and can’t change about your body is part of growing up, too. It can be hard to do. But when people accept the way they look, they often feel happier.

Some children worry that they’re not growing as fast as their friends. It’s important to know that puberty (青春期) doesn’t happen at the same time for every child. And there is no special medicine that can make it happen sooner!

Eating healthy food and exercising more can make all children feel better. Why? Because they will help you feel energetic (精力充沛的) and keep your body working just the way it should be.

Watching TV and playing computer games can be fun, but they don’t do much for your body because you sit when you do them. But when you move your body by playing, dancing, taking part in sports, or even cleaning your room—you exercise your muscles (肌肉). When you exercise the muscle, it gets stronger. And when you have strong muscles, you can have a strong body and then you can do whatever you want to do!

②Make a homework plan. Most middle school students have two or three hours of homework a night. If it is a heavy homework day, you may need to spend even more time. It is a good idea to come up with some kind of homework schedule (进度表), if you are going to do sports or other activities afterschool.

③ ▲ A bedroom, study or any quiet place is good for you to do your homework. But don’t study on your comfortable bed, or you might fall asleep there.
