In a yellow house lives a big white dog. His name is White. He has everything, but he’s not happy. His owner (主人) Anna often works late and she doesn’t have much ________ to play with him.

A little girl lives with her two dogs next to White’s house.

White thinks, “It must be fun to play with ________. ” Then he runs to the little girl’s house, ________the little girl doesn’t like White.

White knows Mrs. Green has a little yellow dog. They ________ near his house, too. So he runs into Mrs. Green’s house.

Mrs. Green is ________ to see White and plays with him. But after ten ________, she sits on her sofa and goes to sleep.

“It’s ________. I want to go home.”

White isn’t happy. He thinks, “________ can play with me?”

Then Anna comes home. She’s so nice. She likes him and she doesn’t just sit on the sofa. They play games and she tells him that she ________ him so much at work.

Lily and Lucy are playing in the living room.

“Meetu, Meetu! I am Meetu. ”

Lily looks at Lucy and says, “What is that? It sounds scary. ”

“I don’t know,” says Lucy, “but I think it is funny. ”

They look out of the window and find a parrot (鹦鹉) in a tree.

Lily and Lucy happily go out into the garden (花园). This parrot is very beautiful. They give (给) the parrot some food and play with it.

The girls take the parrot home. Mom is making breakfast in the kitchen. They run to ask her, “Mom, can we keep this parrot?”

Mom looks at the parrot and says, “No, I am sorry. The parrot belongs to Mrs. Miller. It must be lost. ”

Lily and Lucy are sad (难过的) to hear this, but they give the parrot back to Mrs. Miller. Mrs. Miller doesn’t live far from them. She is happy together pet back. “Thank you. You girls are so nice,” she says. “Oh, you two look sad. You are always welcome to come here and play with Meetu. ”

Lily and Lucy are happy to hear this.

Dave is my best friend. He usually lives in London, but now he is in California.     31    

Dave sends me messages (发信息) every day. This is one of the messages: “Hello. Rick. I’m having a break (休息) between classes.     32     Some are studying and some are reading. Some boys are talking about sports. Some girls are singing songs. I am taking photos of everyone.”     33    

Dave lives faraway now. I miss him a lot. We can’t meet often, but it’s OK because we often send messages.     34     We also use WeChat to send photos. I like hearing about California because there are so many differences (差别) between California and London.
