Thirty engineers were working as a team in a company. They were young and eager(渴望的) to ________. The management decided to teach them about finding ________ solutions(方法) to problems.

We use a two-kilometer length(长度)of river for speedboat(高速游艇)racing, and water-skiing. A beginners’ course covers ten 20-minute lessons. You will learn to row boats safely but must be able to swim. The club is in the city centre and is open every day from 9a.m. to 4 p.m., with lessons all through the day.

Some friends invite you over and serve(招待) you a delicious dinner. Someone lends you his car while there's something wrong with yours. You are sick, and a friend brings you a meal and cares for you.

How do you show your gratitude(感谢)?

Sometimes simply saying thank you is enough. At other times, it is thoughtful to say thank you in a more different way. Be sure to tell that person what you are thankful for and why you are thankful.

Here are some common(常见的) ways to say thank you.

You can write a thank-you note. People are very busy these days. A handwritten note shows you took the time to tell someone you are thankful to him or her. Or you can call and thank the person. You would be surprised how this can make someone's day. Another idea is to send a thank-you email. This is not quite as personal, but it still shows your gratitude.

There are many other ways to say thank you. To say thank you in a creative(创新的) way, you can:

★Choose some flowers from a shop. Write a thank-you note.

★Give the person a basket of fresh fruit or a homemade treat.

★Invite a friend to a movie, meal, snack or coffee.

★Give a gift card for a bookstore or a restaurant. That way the person can pick out a favourite book or eat out.

★Find out what the person likes and give something related(有关的) to that.

★To say a big thank you to someone, have a party for that person.

As you can see, there are many ways to say thank you. Think of some ways of your own. You will feel good trying one of the ideas, and the person being thanked will feel good too. It's a win-win situation!(形势)
