During the lifetime, there’s going to be one time in your life when you feel like telling a lie(谎言). There are two possible reasons. First, you are often afraid of getting into trouble.     1

It’s never okay to tell a lie about anything even if it’s not important.     2     And it could get you into serious situation.

3     Or it could cause trouble. It could even make you lose your friends. As an adult, for example, if you lie(说谎) to your friends, there is a 100% chance that you will lose their trust. So when you tell the truth next time, your friends won’t believe you unless(除非) they hear it from someone else and prove(证明) that they are wrong.     4

5     Because it takes time for them to believe in you again. Remember an old English saying. “Honesty is the best policy.”

A.If you really enjoy making friends, you have to be honest.
B.There is a way that you could let others trust you again, but it’s a really hard way.
C.Or they won’t believe you anymore.
D.Second, you’re so embarrassed(窘迫的) that you want to hide the truth, so you tell lie.
E.You shouldn’t lie because there is always a result that will follow behind the lie.

【推荐1】My 9-year-old daughter and I were flying from our home in Charlotte to spend a week with my husband in Miami. He had been working there for five months. Kellie missed her dad terribly.

The plane was full. I had noticed a group of Boy Scouts (童子军) at the gate. I said to my daughter that if anything happened, we would be OK with all those scouts on our plane!

Because we did not get our boarding passes until we reached the gate, Kellie and I could not get seats together. Kellie was nervous about the trip.

When the passengers in my row boarded the plane, I asked if they would change places with Kellie or me. They refused, saying they wanted to stay in their own seats.

At the same time, a mother and her two children met the same problem. Yet nobody offered to help her. Suddenly, the scout leader stood up and said, "Madam, I think we can help you." He then spent five minutes rearranging(重新安排) his group. As a result, the mother could sit with her children together.

Surprisingly, the man sitting next to the scout leader turned to me and asked: "Would you and your daughter like our seats?" We changed seats and continued on our trip, very happy to be together.

【推荐3】①Amy and Susan both live an average(平常的)life. They have an average house, an average job and an average family. There is really nothing special about their lives, but there is also nothing really negative(消极的)about their lives.

②However, when they are both happy, it always seems that Amy is happier than Susan. It looks like nothing can trouble Amy. She is the life of the party and always has a big smile on her face.
