Mike and Clare are in Cairo in Egypt, one of the     1     and busiest cities in Africa. They moved here with their parents two years ago. Their father, Peter, works for a very big company. The company has     2     in many countries, and it has sent Peter to work in Germany, France and China before. Peter usually stays in a country for about two years. Then the company moves him again.

His family always goes with him. The Robinsons love seeing the world They have been too many     3     places. For example, in Egypt, they have seen the Pyramids, travelled on a boat on the Nile River, and visited the palaces and towers of     4     kings and queens. Mike and Clare have also begun to learn the     5     of the country, Arabic. This language is     6     from English in many     7    , and they find it hard to spell and pronounce the words. However, they still enjoy learning it. So far, they have learnt to speak German, French, Chinese and Arabic. Sometimes they     8     the languages. “It’s really     9    ,” said Clare. The Robinsons are moving again. The company has asked Peter to work back in the US. Mike and Clare are happy about this. They have     10     all over the world, but they also miss their friends in the US.

I often travel by train to some places of interest. This summer I decided     1     a train trip to the countryside.

Then one day, I got on a train and took a seat by the window. At first, the train moved along     2     and later gained its speed. We went through a number of tunnels, crossed some bridges and     3     in the countryside.

A host family met me once I reached Britain. I lived with the host family for two weeks. However, my worries didn’t appear because my host family     4     so lovely and kind. They always cared about me warmly. They always asked me to eat with     5    . And I also cooked some of our     6     food. My host     7     kindness（善良） taught me that cultural differenees couldn’t stop friendship.

The trip was helpful to     10     my English. It was also a way to learn the culture of another country and spread (传播) our culture to others. The travel was wonderful for me. I hope to go there again.

Many students don’t like joining school plays. Some think they are     1     shy to stand on the stage. Some say they are too busy.     2     think that it is very boring. When I     3     the English club would have an English play Snow White, I decided to join it. The main     4     was that I really wanted to be on stage.

There were many     5     in the play. Of course, the girls wanted to play the Princess (公主). Li Fan played the King, Wang Ping and other six boys played the seven dwarfs (矮人). One afternoon, it was very hot. I was     2     on the highway to Fuzhou when another car suddenly came into my lane(车道). My car was ill the far right lane, so it ran onto the roadside.     3     luckily, it didn’t cause an accident.

The car ran away after cutting me off. Very soon it disappeared. After a while, I came around a curve(弯道）and found the same car. The driver was walking along the roadside. He was an elderly man and looked     7    . As there was no telephone nearby and the nearest services were twenty miles away, I decided to help and see what the problem was.

The man’s car had a flat tire(瘪胎).Though he had another tire,     8     had nothing to work with. I decided to help him. I changed the tire for him and let him sit in my air-conditioned (空调) car while 1 did it.

Fifteen     9     later, I finished the work. I was hot and tired, but I     10     felt good after an act of love to the man.

Helping others is the source(源泉)of happiness. That’s true, We should lend a hand to others in trouble.
