I am sure you all know how important recycling is. To recycle is to collect and treat litter to produce useful materials which can be used again. Although it takes energy     1    , it is actually worth doing it. Do you know     2     it all works?

Collecting things that can be recycled is the first step you have to do. Only some     3     can be recycled. They     4     things made out of paper, metal, cardboard, glass and plastic. Can you think of everyday things made out of these materials? Soda cans are a good     5    . They are made out of metal. Magazines and newspapers are made out of paper. Some bottles of juice are made out glass.

Recycling keeps our planet healthy. It reduces（减少）waste. It also saves energy. You can take advantage of it to save the planet. So just remember the rule: always recycle your things.

We are students from Shiyan Middle School. We     1     a chemical factory last week. The chemical factory is     2     to the Qu River. Before we went there, we heard that there was a lot of     3     in the river. We found that the factory was pouring waste water directly into the river. Now the water in it is very     4    . Lots of fish died. There are some     5     living near the river. They report that some of the     6     become ill, and some     7     since they drank the water from the river. So we want to see     8     you can do something about this. We think everybody should help to     9     the environment. Then our home, the Earth, will be     10     and safer.

For a kid, going to middle school is often a big change. You may have to make new friends. You will have   more   teachers   and   study   more     1    . All this can make you feel afraid on the first day of school. I will help you be fine on the first day.
