Last Sunday, I take part in the “Earth Protector” activity with my classmates. In the
morning, we went to People’s Park at 8:30 by foot. When we got to there, we saw some
child drawing pictures by the lake. The ground and public walls was very dirty. So we began to
pick up the rubbish or clean the public walls. We also planted some tree. All of them worked
very hard. We think it’s our duty to take good care our environment. If everyone protects the
environment, the world will become more and more beautifully.

Amanda is a American filmmaker and actress. She came to China three
years ago to study Performance at Beijing Film Academy. Last month, she
moves to Japan to study Economics at the University of Tokyo. On June 10th,
she returned to the USA. She talked with his parents about the cultural
differences among the two countries.
“The people in both countries are very friendly to foreigners, and they
have different cultures. For example, when I spoke Chinese in China, the
people there always showed surprised on their faces. But when I came to
Japan, I find it was opposite. Most local people there hoped I could talk with
them in Japanese, though I was not good for it,” she said.
Amanda thought this might have something to do with the fact that the
Western group in Japan is old than the one in China. They have stayed in
Japan for a long time. And most of them speak Japanese well. But Westerners
in China are still quite a new group. They’re usually treated as guestand tourists.
