Liu Yang is a woman astronaut (宇航员). It’s not easy for her     1     (work) with other two men astronauts to learn about space. The astronauts live in space for six months. They work and live on     2     (they) space station (太空站).

The alarm clock rings early and     3     astronauts get up. They get     4       (dress) and they have breakfast. Eating in space is very     5     (fun). Everything floats (漂浮) around! After breakfast they brush their     6     (tooth) and start to work.

Liu’s job is looking at the planets with a telescope (望远镜). She can learn a lot about space. She is busy all day. After work, the astronauts exercise     7     (relax). Then they have dinner and do some reading. Finally, they go to bed. They sleep     8     sleeping bags. It is     9     (real) difficult to sleep because they can’t lie down!

Some days the astronauts go out of the space station. They call this spacewalking. They wear unusual suits     10     they do a spacewalk.

“ I feel great!” said Wang Yaping when she came out of the Tiangong space station, waving (挥手) back to earth.

    1     Nov 7, the 41-year-old made history. She became China’s     2     (one) female (女性) space walker! Wang, together with astronaut Zhai Zhigang, completed a 6.5-hour space walk. They adjusted (调整) the station’s robotic arm. They also tested the safety of their spacesuits and these spacesuits     3     (make) by China.

Wang’s space dream started in 2003. In that year, China sent Yang Liwei,     4     was the first astronaut in the history of China, into space.     5     (achieve) her dream, she pushed herself hard and got the same training as men.

Since 1984, only 16 women (including Wang) around the world     6     (do) spacewalks, according to Global times. But women spacewalkers are very important to space exploration (探索).

If we don’t let women take part in this,     7     (us) efforts would be not complete. Wang said that as astronauts, women have their own     8     (advantage). Women are more patient and can better deal with loneliness. Women’s hearts are also easier to get used to the weightless (失重的) environment, so it is much     9     (easy) for them to stay longer in space. Sun Jingkun, a 97-year-old fought in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953). He won plenty of medals during his life,     1     (包括) the July 1 Medal, an honor given to the great heroes.

He said that even all these years later, he was not     2     (能够) to forget the soldiers in the war. When he entered the war, he realised the     3     (真相) that the condition is so bad. He     4     (挖) coal with them together to create energy for the war. Years of wars have left him with over 20 scars on his body, and there is still a bullet in his leg.     5     (事实上), Sun hardly watches war films because he thinks a real battle is far more terrible.

Sun joined the CPC in 1949. In the     6     (第九) year, he left the army and gave up the chance to stay in a city. He returned to his home without telling     7     (任何人). He said that as a Party member, as long as he was able to do something for the people, every position was the same. Although the life in the village cannot be     8     (比较) with that of a large city, he enjoyed a lot and completed rice and vegetable production work. In 1984, he divided (分开) his land into five parts and gave it to the poor families. He said it was     9     (必要) to help the poor.

Every year, there are ordinary (普通的) people touching our hearts. Here’s a story of Jiang Mengnan.

When Jiang was just six months old, she lost her hearing after taking the wrong medicine (药). To understand other people, Jiang decided     1     (read) lips (嘴唇) and feel sounds. It was a slow     2     (way), but Jiang never gave up.

As she got older, Jiang went to an ordinary primary school.     3     (certain), it was difficult for her at first. In class,     4     (she) teachers would often turn their backs to students and walk around, so Jiang couldn’t catch much of what they said. Jiang had to write down everything on the blackboard and study     5     class.

With her hard work, she became     6     top student. In 2011, she went to Jilin University. After that, Jiang     7     (start) her studies at Tsinghua University in 2018. Every year, there are some common people spreading great spirit and touching our hearts. Chen Beier from Hongkong is one of them.

Working as a reporter and TVB host for over     1    （二十） years, Chen Beier became the “2021 Person of the Year Who Moved China “ on     2    （三月） 2 for her film.

Chen spent three months     3     （爬） the mountains and crossing the rivers in China. She reached     4     （贫穷） villages in six provinces and ten areas. Zhang Yugun is head of Heihumiao Primary School in Henan Province. He     1     (be) a person full of love and responsibility (责任).

After graduation in 2001, Zhang chose to work in the poor countryside. Over the past 21 years, he     2     (see) many teachers come and go because of the poor conditions in the village. However, he has stayed on and made every effort to help the children deal with their     3     (problem).

Thanks to the teachers like Zhang, the students in Heihumiao Primary School are able to learn at school and hope for     10     bright future.

To fully understand the story, we need to walk in the shoes of Yue Fei and his mother. When the country is in a difficult situation, everyone lives a hard life. Would you be willing to join the army to fight the enemy? Many people     8     say no. But the young Yue Fei was willing to do this. And it was not an easy     9     (choose) for his mother to encourage him to do something so dangerous.

We need to pay tribute (致敬) to Yue Fei, but we also need to understand how much courage he took to serve the country, as well as how much he and his family sacrificed (牺牲). Patriotism (爱国主义) shouldn’t just be a slogan (口号). We need to develop a strong sense of responsibility to our country and practice it in our daily life.

President Xi Jinping wrote in an article     10     his mother bought books about Yue Fei for him when he was very young. His mother told him the story and after that, he kept the words “jingzhong baoguo” in mind. “This is my lifelong goal,” Xi wrote.
