Last week, students at Bridge School worked hard to make their English Week a big     1    (成功). There was an English book fair in the library and a treasure hunt. Some students put on an English play. Other students took part in different kinds of speaking     2    (比赛). The students had to speak on a topic in English     3    (达，计) two minutes. They also showed others around the school and introduced in English.

We interviewed (采访) the winner, Mary. “If we want to be good public speakers, first, we’d better do well in class work, from class starts every quiz, seriously in each class,     4     (积极地) speak well, study hard. Second, we should speak slowly , clearly and confidently. It     5    (取决于) on     6    (我们自己) ,” she said. Henry, another winner, said, “I have practised speaking English     7    (自……以来) I was seven. I’ve been enjoying English Week. It gave me a chance to speak English. In my opinion,     8    (也许) our school should have more activities like English Week. Although it’s a little tiring, it is also     9    (有价值的).”

On the last day of the English Week, we invited the headmaster to give a speech to the whole school. He said the English Week was helpful for students to improve the ability of     10    (交流) in English. It’s well worth doing.
