I had a chance to teach students the skills of speaking. These shy and quiet students made me think of myself...

I was     1     shy boy and born with a speech difficulty. It took me six     2     (year) to have special classes about pronouncing the forty-eight sounds of the English language. One day I decided to make my voice heard, so I joined a debate (辩论) team to practice     3     (I) speaking skills. I stuttered (结巴) many times     4     first. However, after thinking over and     5     (interview) other teammates about skills, I started using the tools I learned years ago: practice and time. They were really     6    (help). A few months later, I was still nervous, but I was different from before. I wouldn’t stand     7     (silent) anymore. I found I had changed—I always kept trying and growing. I grew better in the debate team.

I shared my experience with my students. As time passed, the students began to try and practice. In the last class, I     8     (see) each of them standing bravely. They dared to speak their ideas out! I really felt     9     (pride) than before.

Many people won’t become better     10     they don’t face themselves bravely. With courage, time and practice, everyone can do better.

First of all, the biggest     2     is that, during our daily lives, we focus on understanding the world, not remembering it. For example, we watch a baseball game not to remember it, but to     3     it. We do remember some details of the game,     4     they are only a byproduct(副产品) of this experience.

Second,     5     helps us to get through hard times. After something sad has happened in our lives, most of us find time helps to ease(减轻) the pain. The bad memories will slowly fade(消退) away. Forgetting saves us     6     the dark times of our past.

Third, forgetting is good for memory. You wouldn’t like to fill your memory with     7     things, such as an old password(密码) you no longer use. People forget unimportant information so that     8     can remember important details better.

Don’t be sad if you forget a lot. Forgetting is just part of having a healthy memory. It can help you to experience the world more fully!
