I’m so happy! Tomorrow I’ll be one of the first students to     1    . The spaceship will leave the Earth at 9 a.m.. It’ll take us to the Moon. I can’t wait!

The moon is around 380,000 kilometres from the Earth, so it’ll take us     2     to get there. There’s no gravity in space, so we’ll all be able to float around in the spaceship. We’ll have to tie ourselves to our beds so that we won’t float away in our sleep!     3    , our bodies may get weak, so we’ll have to     4     every day.

When we arrive, I’m going to walk on the Moon. I’ll have to     5     to help me breathe because there is no air on the Moon. I am going to take as many photos as I can, that is, if my camera still works up there.

From a plane you can see the fields,     1    , mountains or rivers below. If we go into space, we see more and more of the earth. People and man-made satellites are     2     out into space to look at the earth, the stars and other     3     and learn more about them.

Do you still remember these words? It was June 20th, 2013.     1     astronaut Wang Yaping gave a science lesson in space.     2     of students and teachers across China listened to it. Were you one of     3    ? On the afternoon of December 9th, 2021, Ms. Wang gave her “Lesson Two”!

This time, Wang and her team will stay in space for 183 days. She has become the first woman     4     completed the spacewalk. We also heard the first Chinese New Year’s greetings coming from space. But perhaps the most exciting part for us is Ms. Wang’s “Lesson Two”.

Wang’s space dream began when Yang Liwei became China’s     5     man in space in 2003. “When will our country have a spacewoman?” she thought to     6    . Wang was a fighter pilot. Because of her excellent performance, in 2010, she was chosen to train as an astronaut by the government. After lots of hard training, the woman     7     realized her space dream in 2013.

Like many young Chinese people, Wang likes photography, music     8     basketball. She said, “We are all     9     in facing the universe. We are looking forward     10     joining our young friends to learn and explore (探索) the beautiful universe.”
