Keep Learning Something New Each Day.

Learning something new every day (no matter how small) can have a big effect on your brain.     2     For example, you can start by using a word-of-a-day App to learn new words.

When you learn something new, don’t waste it. Make sure you use it in your life and you will find it improves your life somehow. Whether it’s learning about numbers or technology, if you take the time to learn something, put that knowledge into practice.

Think of New Ways to Do Old Things.

Another way you can challenge your brain is to look at things you do every day and think about how you can do them differently. Finding new ways to do things will help your brain stay sharp and focused. It will as well make life more interesting and fun.

Play Games That Make You Think.

To keep your brain active, do something that requires you to think. Board games, card games, video games, and puzzles are all good choices.     4     That’s because they need you to keep thinking.

Get Some Physical Exercise.

    5     In addition to helping make you stronger, exercise also helps improve blood flow to the brain. This helps with memory, learning, focus and reading comprehension.

The Internet has opened up a whole new online world for us to meet, chat and go where we’ve never been before.

But just as in face to face communication, there are some rules of behavior that should be followed when online.     1     Imagine how you’d feel if you were in the other person’s shoes.

For anything you’re about to send, ask yourself, “Would I say this to the person’s face? “if the answer is no, rewrite and reread.     2    

If someone in the chat room is rude to you, your instinct(本能) is to fire back in the same manner. But try not to do so. You should either ignore(忽略) the person, or use your chat software to block their messages. If it was caused by a disagreement with another member, try to fix the situation by politely discussing it. Remember to respect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.

    3     Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they may not be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someone makes a mistake, whether it’s a stupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind about it.     4     Even if you feel strongly about it, think twice before saying anything. Having good manners yourself doesn’t give you license to correct everyone else.     5     At the same time, if you find you are wrong, be sure to correct yourself and apologize to those that you have offended.

It is not polite to ask others personal questions such as age, sex, and marital status. Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information, don’t ask such questions.
